Patent number: 8261889Abstract: An opposed-piston disc brake includes cylinder connection oil passages respectively connected to a cylinder of an inner caliper portion and a cylinder of an outer caliper portion, passage communication bores respectively formed at bridge portions to extend in an axial direction of a disc in a substantially straight manner. The cylinder connection oil passages are formed using a core at the time when a caliper body is cast. The cylinder connection oil passages extend in a radially outer direction of the disc. Ends of the cylinder connection oil passages in a longitudinal direction thereof are directly connected to the passage communication bores. In a state where the caliper body is mounted on a vehicle, a top portion of an inner wall surface of one of the passage communication bores is positioned higher than the ends of the cylinder connection oil passages.Type: GrantFiled: October 13, 2009Date of Patent: September 11, 2012Assignee: Advics Co., Ltd.Inventors: Satoru Itsuaki, Shinichi Morita

Publication number: 20100243384Abstract: The present invention is to stabilize behavior of brake pads at the time of braking of a disc brake so as to suppress generation of brake noise, and also to reduce the roll moment of the brake pads generated at the time of braking so as to suppress uneven abrasion of linings. A back plate (41) of a brake pad (40) is biased inward in the rotor radial direction by a plate spring (80). The back plate (41) is engaged at two points with an inner periphery support shaft (61) provided integrally with a caliper (20) on a V-shape inner peripheral abutment (41a) (provided in the back plate (41) on the inner side of a lining (42) in the rotor radial direction and on the center in the rotor circumferential direction), and engaged at one point with an outer periphery support shaft (62) provided integrally with the caliper (20) on an outer peripheral abutment (41b) (provided in the back plate (41) on the outer side of the lining (42) in the rotor radial direction and on the center in the rotor circumferential direction).Type: ApplicationFiled: March 26, 2010Publication date: September 30, 2010Applicant: ADVICS CO., LTD.Inventors: Shinichi Morita, Satoru Itsuaki

Patent number: 6776815Abstract: A particulate filter can be prevented from being damaged. The ashes can be removed from the particulate filter without by burning. A non-woven welding operation for a sealing portion can be simplified. The operability is enhanced by facilitating an insertion of a multi-layer body into a heat resisting container. The number of recycling processes executed when particulate matters such as soot are accumulated on the particulate filter is made as small as possible. A particulate filter 1 comprises an axial core 7 composed of a heat resisting metal, a multi-layer body 3 formed by winding said axial core with a multi-layer member into which a non-woven fabric 11 and a corrugated sheet 13 each composed of a heat resisting metal are tiered, and a heat resisting container 5 charged with said multi-layer body 3.Type: GrantFiled: October 19, 2001Date of Patent: August 17, 2004Assignees: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki Kaisha, Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd.Inventors: Zenichiro Kato, Hiromichi Yanagihara, Kazuhiko Shiratani, Youichi Nagai, Satoru Itsuaki, Kohei Shimoda, Kazutoshi Shibutani

Patent number: 6029444Abstract: A three-way valve for changing over the direction of flow of high-temperature gas which can completely close flow paths and which is durable enough to prevent increase in leakage of gas even if the gas is engine exhaust. A valve mechanism provided in a valve chest includes an arm pivotable about a pivot shaft, a support rod mounted on a valve pressing portion of the arm, and two valve bodies supported on the support rod on both sides of the arm so as to be pivotable. The valve bodies have flat sealing surfaces adapted to be brought into surface-to-surface contact with flat valve seats formed at the inlets of bifurcated paths.Type: GrantFiled: April 14, 1999Date of Patent: February 29, 2000Assignee: Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd.Inventors: Hajime Nakamura, Hidetoshi Saito, Satoru Itsuaki, Kunihide Sakaguchi, Shiro Nakajima

Patent number: 5386890Abstract: A disk brake has a brake piston for biasing pads against a disk. The piston is arranged so that the center of its biasing force is offset toward the leading disk side from the center of the frictional surface of the pad. Also, the piston is arranged so that the center of the biasing force is offset toward the center of the disk from a line extending in the tangential direction of the disk and passing the center of the frictional surface of the pad. In another arrangement, a disk brake has a plurality of brake pistons adapted to bias respective pads. One of the brake pistons is located at the leading disk side and has a greater pressure bearing area than that of the other brake piston at the trailing disk side. The brake pistons are arranged so that the center their biasing forces are offset toward the center of the disk from the line extending in the tangential direction of the disk and passing the center of the frictional surfaces of the pads.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 1994Date of Patent: February 7, 1995Assignee: Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd.Inventor: Satoru Itsuaki
