  • Patent number: 5397853
Abstract: On a compact disk is recorded audio data and/or image data for predetermined pieces of music. Auto-play data which is to be reproduced in synchronism with the audio data and/or image data, and data indicating the recorded position of the audio data and/or image data in association with the auto-play data are stored in an auto-play memory. In executing auto-playing in synchronism with the playing of the audio data and/or image data from a midway of a piece of music, the top of the compact disk is set on the basis of the position data in the memory at the midway point so that the play start points in the memory and the compact disk at the midway point can be matched with each other.

  • Patent number: 5350882
Abstract: An automatic performance apparatus which easily changes the tempo and direction of automatic performance of a musical instrument, for example, to a rhythm of a rap music such that a disc jockey operates a scratch disc. Clock frequency SQCK of sequence counter 202 is changed in accordance with the speed and quantity of rotation of disc 102 and ball 1101 rotated with user's fingers, so that the timing of reading event data and event time data out of sequencer memory 206 is controlled and the tempo of the automatic performance is changed. When the user changes the rotational direction of disc 102, counter 202 performs a decrementing operation in accordance with a rotational direction signal output from rotational direction detector 110, thereby giving a reverse automatic performance.

  • Patent number: 5313011
Abstract: When a playback speed of a recording medium such as a compact disc (CD) or the like is changed, the change of this playback speed is reflected in a clock which controls a tempo of automatic play. In the background of music reproduced from the recording medium, playing data provided during the play is written in a memory (211) in a real time fashion. When the automatic play is carried out in accordance with the content stored in the memory (211), the present invention includes a mode (A) in which the changed state of the playback speed of the CD and the tempo/musical sound pitch states of automatic play are automatically reproduced in the same states as those in the recording timing point, and a mode (B) in which the playback speed of the CD is automatically returned to the original speed before being changed and the tempo/musical sound pitch states of automatic play are automatically changed in response thereto.

  • Patent number: 5299181
Abstract: A recording medium records performance data of a predetermined program piece. The recording medium is played back as a background performance, and auto-playing data is sequentially stored in synchronism with the playback operation of the recording medium program number data of the recording medium and present playback time data at the beginning of the storage operation are fetched from the recording medium, and are stored in a memory. For this reason, when the stored data is automatically played, the corresponding program piece of the recording medium can be automatically selected, and an auto-play can be synchronously started at the same timing as in a storage mode.

  • Patent number: 5189237
Abstract: Audio data of a predetermined piece of music is recorded on a compact disc. A sequence of musical tone data is stored in an auto-play memory. Also stored in this auto-play memory are a time control command, an access command and a play command. An instrument controller reads out these commands to surely control the auto-playing and reproduction of data from the compact disc in synchronism.

  • Patent number: 5148419
Abstract: A CD (compact disk) stores audio data of a predetermined music piece. The CD is played back as a background music, and auto-playing data is sequentially stored in synchronism with the playback operation of the CD. Music No. data of the CD and present playback time data at the beginning of the storage operation are fetched from subcodes in the CD, and are stored in a memory. For this reason, when the stored data is automatically played, the corresponding music piece of the CD can be automatically selected, and an auto-play can be synchronously started at the same timing as in a storage mode.
