    Abstract: In an AV network system where one or more servers and digital TVs are connected to a network, and a server connected to the network is also connected to a digital TV by a HDMI cable, the digital TV searches for the one or more servers and obtains an IP address of each of the servers via the network. Further, the digital TV requests an IP address of the servers using HDMI CEC and obtains the IP address from the recorder connected to the digital TV by the HDMI cable. The digital TV compares the IP address obtained using CEC with the IP address obtained via the network, and receives video and audio signals from the server via the HDMI cable when the IP addresses match.

    Abstract: A digital TV in accordance with the present invention searches for a server in step S112, and obtains IP addresses of a first recorder and a second recorder in step S212 and step S222, respectively. Further, the digital TV requests an IP address using HDMI CEC in step S113, and obtains the IP address from the recorder connected to the digital TV by an HDMI cable. Furthermore, the digital TV compares the IP address obtained using CEC with an IP address of a device saving a content in step S117.
