Publication number: 20080095563Abstract: [Object] Provides a printing apparatus which eliminates complexity of power-ON operation and can enter into print preparation when print is enabled. [Solving Means] The printing apparatus is started on so-called sleep mode or energy saving mode in which power is supplied only to the control portion and a sensor portion. If a detection signal is received from a personal computer (S5: YES), four printable conditions, that is, whether or not a cover is closed (S7), whether or not a tape is loaded normally (S9), whether or not a cutter operates normally (S11) and whether or not battery voltage is within a normal range (S13) are checked successively, and if all the conditions are satisfied, the main power supply is turned ON (S15). Consequently, the print mechanism and other portions are supplied with power so that the entire printing apparatus is supplied with power. As a result, the print preparation processing is executed (S17), and the printing apparatus waits for reception of print data (S19).Type: ApplicationFiled: October 24, 2005Publication date: April 24, 2008Inventors: Tomoki Miyashita, Naruhito Muto, Satoru Moriyama, Jun Jiang

Patent number: 7340041Abstract: When a hook detection unit (18) detects the off-hook of a handset (8), voice (e.g., “telephone book”, the other party's name) sent from a user is input via the handset (8), and a voice recognition unit (110) recognizes the voice, the other party's name and a telephone number stored in a telephone book memory (3) are displayed on a display unit (5). Then, when voice “up/down” is input via the handset (8), another party's name and a telephone number stored in a telephone book memory (3) are switched and displayed on a display unit (5); and when voice “telephone” or “fax” is input, a call is made or a fax transmission started to the other party displayed on the display unit (5).Type: GrantFiled: November 16, 2001Date of Patent: March 4, 2008Assignees: Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd., Tottori Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hiroyuki Otagaki, Hirotomo Ozaki, Shigetoshi Matsubara, Kazushi Honjo, Tatsuji Kishida, Koichi Takata, Atsumi Kakimoto, Hideyuki Arimoto, Satoru Moriyama

Publication number: 20070258748Abstract: When a print tape (8) to be used as the label (25?) of a first sheet desired by one user is printed with no cut and then predetermined conditions, e.g. “time out elapse”, are satisfied, the label (25?) is outputted from a printer (6) in a cut state. When the other user instructs the printer (6) to make another label by auto-cut, the other label is cut and outputted. Even if the one user instructs the printer (6) subsequently to make the label of a second sheet by auto-cut to make a label (25) where the label (25?) of the first sheet is connected with the label of the second sheet intentionally, the label of the second sheet is cut and outputted.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 5, 2005Publication date: November 8, 2007Inventors: Satoru Moriyama, Naruhito Muto, Tomoki Miyashita, Jun Jiang

Publication number: 20070138281Abstract: The tag-label producing device includes a print head for performing printing with respect to a print area of a cover film, a loop antenna for performing transmission/reception of information to/from an RFID circuit element, and a tape feed roller for imparting relative movement between the print head or loop antenna and a tag label tape with print. At this time, a control circuit determines the chronological sequence relation between the arrival of the RFID circuit element at a communication position where transmission/reception of information is performed with respect to the loop antenna, and the completion of the printing by the print head with respect to the print area. In accordance with the result of this determination, the operation modes of the tape feed roller, loop antenna, and print head are switch-controlled in a coordinated fashion.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 15, 2006Publication date: June 21, 2007Inventors: Satoru Moriyama, Koshiro Yamaguchi, Mitsugi Tanaka, Yasuhisa Ichikawa, Yasuhiro Iriyama

Patent number: 7090418Abstract: A tape printing apparatus including an internal unit having a print mechanism, a cutting mechanism, and a tape discharge mechanism that safely and reliably discharges tapes at a suitable speed to a proximate location relative to an apparatus main body. When printing a tape accommodated in a tape cassette by a thermal head, cutting the tape using a fixed blade and a movable blade and forcibly discharging the tape by a driving roller and a pressing roller, a bisectrix that bisects the width of the tape in a vertical direction is located further upward by a length L2 than a bisectrix of the driving roller and the pressing roller. As a result, the cut end of the tape will be rotated and gradually directed upward in the course of delivery of the tape by the driving roller and the pressing roller to discharge the tape outside of the apparatus main body through the tape discharge slot in a obliquely maintained position.Type: GrantFiled: July 26, 2004Date of Patent: August 15, 2006Assignee: Brother Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Takashi Miki, Satoru Moriyama

Patent number: 7034855Abstract: The present invention provides a printing apparatus that selects a suitable speed, thereby enabling a rapid printing operation with printing quality maintained. In the printing apparatus, the number of heating elements for every printing line is counted. A printing constant speed is determined based upon the dividing number of a thermal head selected from the counting result. When the printing constant speed is changed, a corresponding numerical table is selected and set from a printing speed accelerating table and a printing speed decelerating table stored in a ROM and set for every printing constant speed.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 2005Date of Patent: April 25, 2006Assignee: Brother Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Naruhito Muto, Tomoki Miyashita, Jun Jiang, Satoru Moriyama

Publication number: 20050230051Abstract: In the case the die cut label sheet is mounted, by detection of threshold voltage of output signal of the photo sensor, each label provisionally adhered to a front surface of the die cut label sheet is fed to a print start position. In the case the unfixed-length roll sheet is mounted, if the feeding speed is less than 40 mm/sec, by detection of threshold voltage of output signal of the photo sensor, the feeding state of unfixed-length roll sheet is judged, or if the feeding speed is not less than 40 mm/sec, on the basis of voltage change for the predetermined potential difference portion of output signal of the photo sensor, the feeding state of unfixed-length roll sheet is judged.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 21, 2005Publication date: October 20, 2005Applicant: BROTHER KOGYO KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventors: Tsuyoshi Yamamoto, Yusuke Ota, Satoru Moriyama, Jun Jiang, Hirotsugu Unotoro
