    Abstract: A system for treating the blood of a patient, which is obtained by, for example, bleeding during an operation and thus to be autotransfused to the patient, as well as a device therefor is disclosed. The process comprises sucking the blood under a sucking pressure of 80 to 150 mmHg, filtering the sucked blood through a filter membrane of a pore size of 100 to 150 .mu.m and storing the filtered blood in a storage tank while shaking.

    Abstract: A powdered fiber bundle of bamboo shoot which is capable of swelling with water is produced by heating bamboo shoot with heated steam at a pressure of 3 to 8 kg/cm.sup.2 (gauge) at a temperature of 130.degree. to 180.degree. C., releasing the pressure at once, drying and pulverizing the squirting bamboo shoot and collecting fine powders. The powdered fiber bundle which has been washed with water sufficiently until it loses any taste and odor is useful as a food additive for supplementing fibrous material to foods deficient in vegetable fiber content.

    Abstract: A powder of expanded asparagus fiber bundles is obtained by keeping the integument of asparagus stems under a pressure of 2 to 8 kg/cm.sup.2 (gage), then releasing the pressure in a moment, drying the spurted material, and pulverizing the dried material. This powder is used as a food additive for supplementing fibrous material to a diet deficient in vegetable fiber content and is effective in preventing acquired intestinal diverticulum.
