Patent number: 7227332Abstract: A driving control device for an electric vehicle includes an electric machine which is driven by a current supplied from a battery, a transmission which is coupled with the electric machine and performs shifting at a predetermined gear ratio, a charging state detecting portion which detects an electric variable that shows a charging state of the battery, a fail determination processing device which determines whether the electric variable exceeds a threshold value and makes a fail determination when the electric variable exceeds the threshold value, and a charging control processing device which decreases a rotational speed of the electric machine and reduces the electric variable when the fail determination is made. The fail determination is made to decrease the rotational speed of the electric machine when field weakening control becomes unperformable and the electric variable exceeds the threshold value, which makes it possible to prevent an overcurrent from being supplied to the battery.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2002Date of Patent: June 5, 2007Assignee: Aisin AW Co., Ltd.Inventors: Takehiko Suzuki, Yasuo Yamaguchi, Satoru Wakuta

Patent number: 7128676Abstract: A failsafe hydraulic circuit designed to avoid simultaneous engagement of two friction engagement elements (e.g., clutches, brakes, etc.) incorporated in a speed change apparatus of a motor vehicle or the like. If a first failsafe valve is in the open position state and a first engaging pressure is supplied to a first hydraulic servo via the first failsafe valve, the first engaging pressure is also input to a first oil pressure switch via a second failsafe valve being in the closed position state. Therefore, using the first oil pressure switch, it can be detected that the first engaging pressure is supplied to the first hydraulic servo. Furthermore, if the first engaging pressure is, for example, greater than the set pressure of the first oil pressure switch, this situation can also be detected. Such detections provide confirmation of normal operation of the first failsafe valve and the second failsafe valve.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 2004Date of Patent: October 31, 2006Assignees: Aisin AW Co., LTD, Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Seiichi Kinugasa, Masanori Onoda, Kazuhito Enomoto, Kiyotomo Miura, Naoyuki Fukaya, Satoru Wakuta, Masatoshi Adachi, Akira Murakami

Publication number: 20060166772Abstract: A hybrid driving unit (7) in which a second electric motor (23) is disposed on the side closer to the front (the side closer to an internal combustion engine (5)) than a first electric motor (20). A casing member (14) is formed such that an inner diameter of a part thereof in which a stator (28) of the second electric motor (23) is fixed is larger than that of a part in which a stator of the first electric motor (20) is fixed. It allows the second electric motor (23) to be constructed so as to have a large radial dimension and to that extent, allows the length thereof in the longitudinal direction to be suppressed. Accordingly, it allows the length of the whole hybrid driving unit (7) to be shortened.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 30, 2004Publication date: July 27, 2006Inventors: Seigo Kano, Kenji Omote, Satoru Wakuta, Tomochika Inagaki, Masatoshi Adachi, Masahiro Kojima

Patent number: 6932176Abstract: A control system for a hybrid vehicle that is capable of absorbing an inertial force which is generated during shifting of a stepped transmission. During shift control of the stepped transmission by a shift control device and before the shift control is completed, a during-shift drive control element controls a driving force which is output from a second drive unit such that a total driving force which is output from first and second drive units to the drive wheels equals a driver request output. Further, the during-shift drive control elements executes control so as to reduce a difference between the total driving force output to a drive wheel and the driver request output based on a change in a transmission force of the stepped transmission caused by a switch-over between a first brake and a second brake.Type: GrantFiled: July 14, 2004Date of Patent: August 23, 2005Assignees: Aisin Aw Co., Ltd., Toytoa Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Shigeki Takami, Kiyotomo Miura, Satoru Wakuta, Hiroatsu Endo, Tatsuya Ozeki
