  • Patent number: 7664817
Abstract: Network information-distribution method and device for transmitting information utilizing information-exchange relationships among users. Information is transmitted from user 1 to all or a portion of user 1's buddies, e.g., users 12 and 13. Next, having received the information, users 12 and 13 then forward the information to their respective buddies. The information is forwarded, for example, to users 211 and 212 registered on user 12's buddy list 21. Likewise, the information is also transmitted to the user group registered on user 13's buddy list 22. By repeating this, buddy lists expressing information-exchange relationships among users are utilized to distribute the information to great numbers of persons.

  • Patent number: 7640276
Abstract: Provided is a backup method including a step (S1) of reading a log which is a data update difference, and identifying a data storage area (page) of backup data, a step (S2) of determining high/low reusability of the identified data storage area, a step (S3) of storing a log corresponding to a data storage area determined to be low in reusability in a log storage area preset on a memory, and a step (S4) of applying a log corresponding to a data storage area determined to be high in reusability to the identified data storage area in a cache area set on the memory, and updating the data storage area. Thus, by further reducing the number of I/O times in an external storage system of a standby system which backs up data by log transfer, it is possible to reduce introduction costs of a backup system and its normal-time operation's costs at normal times.

  • Publication number: 20090276390
Abstract: A modeling support system is provided in which a model structure is extracted from stored models so as to improve a resulting prediction model using the extracted structure. In a modeling support system 1, when information processors 15a to 15c analyze a phenomenon using covariance structure for modeling and request the modeling support system 1 for supporting the modeling, a model controller 4 acquires and controls observed variables, latent variables, and the associations between the variables of the object model. Then, a similar structure extractor 78 of a model extractor 7 compares the object model with reference models stored in a model recorder, and extracts a partial structure of the reference model having a structure similar to a partial structure of the object model as a similar structure, and then the model controller notifies the extracted similar structure to the information processor.

  • Patent number: 7603227
Abstract: Predicting of starting of an engine is performed in advance before starting of the engine. When the starting of the engine is predicted, a failure diagnosis of a device such as a heater, a pump and so forth, which are attached to the engine and to be operated before starting of the engine, is made. When the heater and the pump are determined to be normal from the result of the diagnosis, the heater and the pump are operated before the engine is started. With this, the temperature of the heater can be increased and the pressure of a fluid carried by the pump can be increased before starting the starting of the engine.

  • Publication number: 20090230761
Abstract: A brake system provided with a brake booster using intake negative pressure of an engine for boosting a brake operating force for a vehicle. A requested braking force is detected base on an operating amount of a brake pedal, and when the requested braking force is less than a threshold value, a master cylinder pressure prevailing in the master cylinder using an operating force boosted by the brake booster is supplied to the wheel cylinder. On the other hand, when the requested braking force is greater than or equal to the threshold value, brake fluid pressure having been boosted by a pump is supplied to the wheel cylinder. The threshold value is set to a value that becomes greater the larger the negative pressure inside the brake booster.

  • Publication number: 20090193964
Abstract: In the negative pressure booster, when in operation, a reaction disc (35) deflects due to the reaction from an output shaft (34) and pushes a pin (28) backward, and the pin (28) pushes a vacuum valve seat member (21) backward via an arm (25). Thereafter, the vacuum valve seat member (21) pushes up a valve body (15) backward via a vacuum valve portion (17), and an atmosphere valve portion (16) moves backward relative to a valve body (4). The stroke of an input shaft (11) is shortened by an amount an atmosphere valve (20) and a vacuum valve (23) have moved backward. As the valve body (15) is pushed up backward, further, a balance position for the atmosphere valve (20) and the vacuum valve (23) shifts backward depending upon the output (input). Therefore, the stroke of the input member is shortened at the time of producing a large output.

  • Publication number: 20090145381
Abstract: An apparatus and method of controlling vibration-damping for a vehicular internal combustion engine. The combustion is temporarily stopped in some cylinders among a plurality of cylinders, and the engine is operated by the remaining cylinders. Then, a variable valve mechanism which varies a valve lift amount of at least one of intake and exhaust valves of each cylinder is controlled, to decrease the valve lift amount of at least one of the intake and exhaust valves of each cylinder in which the combustion is temporarily stopped. Further, a rotating electric machine having at least one of functions of an electric motor and a generator is controlled, to apply torque to an output shaft of the engine thereby suppressing torque variation in the output shaft at the time when the combustion is temporarily stopped in some cylinders, so that the torque variation due to uneven explosion intervals is reduced.
