  • Patent number: 4762206
Abstract: A disc brake includes a caliper movable relative a mounting bracket to press a pair of friction pads against opposite sides of a disc to apply a braking action. A tubular sleeve slidably extends through a guide hole formed through one either caliper or the mounting bracket in the axial direction of the disc. A bolt extends through the sleeve and is threaded into a threaded hole formed in a mounting surface of the other of the caliper and the mounting bracket. First and second retainer rings are mounted on the bolt and clamped respectively between a bolt head and one end of the sleeve and between the mounting surface and the other end of the sleeve. First and second tubular elastic boots covering the opposite end portions of the sleeve extend outward from said guide hole, respectively. One end of the first boot is secured to the first retainer ring while the other end is secured to the one of the caliper and the bracket.

  • Patent number: 4679668
Abstract: A brake control apparatus for a vehicle includes brake apparatus for the respective wheels which are operated by pressurized fluid from a master cylinder; an electro-magnetic valve arranged in a conduit connecting the master cylinder with at least one of the brake apparatus, the electro-magnetic valve being normally in the communicating state and being changed over into the intercepting state by an external instruction; at least one of the brake apparatus being of the disc brake type, the one comprising; (a) a disc rotor; (b) first and second friction pad assemblies for engagement with opposite sides of the disc rotor, the assemblies being guided for movement towards the disc rotor; (c) a caliper body straddling the peripheral edge of the disc rotor and the first and second friction assemblies; (d) an actuating member arranged in the caliper body for urging the first and second friction pad assemblies into engagement with the disc rotor, and (e) elastically deformable retainers for supporting the first and se

  • Patent number: 4185237
Abstract: In a method of measuring substances each exhibiting a derivative peak of the phase sensitive detector (PSD) output at a pair of specific magnetic field intensities by sweeping the field, the magnetic field is switched between the specific magnetic field intensities to obtain only the absorptions at the specific field intensities to thereby substantially reduce the sweeping time as well as to reduce the background drift.
