  • Patent number: 6173701
Abstract: To protect a plastic intake manifold of an internal combstion engine from heat possessed by exhaust gas recirculation gas, a cooling device is arranged between the plastic intake manifold and an exhaust gas recirculation valve. The cooling device cools the exhaust gas recirculation gas by means of a coolant. A gas discharge part of the cooling device constitutes a pipe portion which penetrates through an exhaust gas inlet hole of the intake manifold keeping a given space between an outer wall of the pipe portion and an inner wall of the exhaust gas inlet hole. The pipe portion may be a leading end portion of an exhaust gas recirculation pipe extending from an exhaust system of the engine.

  • Patent number: 6049475
Abstract: A power converting apparatus is obtained in which an integrated circuit for driving a power switching element is operated under stable conditions. A core 100 functioning as a common mode transformer made of a material such as ferrite is connected to a wiring line connected between a switch 7, a switch 8, and an IC 13 for opening/closing these switches 7 and 8 in a complementary manner, so that an impedance of a current path to the switch 7 and the IC 13 is increased.

  • Patent number: 5743305
Abstract: In an electric shedding control apparatus, shedding patterns are stored in memories in such a manner that the shedding patterns are compressed and the time required to read the shedding patterns is shortened. An electric shedding apparatus is provided for driving each of a plurality of heddle frames independently and in synchronization with a rotation of a main shaft of a loom. Constituents of the shedding operations are set in advance, and the constituents are selected for each shedding step. Also, in order to drive the heddle frame, shedding amount instruction for the heddle frame is output in accordance with the rotation of the loom main shaft based on a shedding curve which includes the selected constituents.

  • Patent number: 5564377
Abstract: An intake manifold of a multi-cylinder engine comprises a lower branch and an upper branch both having an identical number of pipe elements. One end of the lower branch is connected to a plurality of intake ports of an engine cylinder head, and at the other free end, the pipe elements are arranged in a row. The upper branch overhangs one side of the cylinder head. One end of the upper branch is connected to a collector disposed above the cylinder head, and at the other free end, the pipe elements are arranged in a row. Flanges are formed around the pipe elements at the free ends of these branches. First holes are provided at positions nearby the two ends of the row. Second holes are formed on an edge of the flanges, these holes being offset from the line joining the first holes on the opposite side to the aforesaid side of the cylinder head. A sealing member is inserted between the flanges, and the flanges are joined tightly together by bolts via these holes.

  • Patent number: 5416686
Abstract: The present invention provides a power inverting apparatus capable of coping with an abrupt change in phase of input voltage within a certain range and operating in a stable manner continuously. According to a first aspect of the present invention, a power inverting apparatus comprises a converter unit for changing ac voltage supplied by an ac voltage source into dc voltage, an inverter unit for changing dc voltage supplied by converter unit into ac voltage, and an input voltage control unit that when the polarity of ac voltage supplied by the ac voltage source inconsistent with the one of ac voltage supplied by the inverter unit, cuts off ac voltage to be supplied to the converter unit.

  • Patent number: 5351721
Abstract: When mispicking occurs, a weft yarn continuous with a mispicked weft yarn is inserted into the shed of warp yarns in a loop by the jetting of a main picking nozzle and auxiliary picking nozzles. A weft yarn retaining member is positioned in the loop of the weft yarn and the mispicked weft yarn is pulled to be removed from the picking side by way of the weft yarn. Given auxiliary picking nozzles stop jetting when the weft yarn is inserted in a loop so that the tip end of the loop of the inserted weft yarn is limited in the extent to which it moves in the picking direction, and thus does not extend substantially beyond the arriving side of the shed of warp yarns, so as to prevent entanglement thereof with various other members.
