  • Publication number: 20080098174
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention is a cache memory arranged between a processor and a low-speed memory and performing a pipeline processing of a memory access made by the processor. In a first stage, the cache memory reads out a tag address from a tag memory. In a second stage, the cache memory performs a hit decision by a hit decision unit. When the hit decision result is a miss hit, the cache memory performs an update control of the tag memory and a behavior control of a bypass circuit for supplying a data held in a latch circuit to the hit decision unit by bypassing the tag memory in a third stage. The latch circuit is configured to hold a tag address included in a input address supplied from the processor.

  • Patent number: 6718459
Abstract: A numerical arithmetic circuit 50 executes an arithmetic instruction according to an instruction read out of a program memory 10 and then stores the arithmetic result into a register group 40 via an input switcher 70. A mode register 20 is associated with the register group 40. A flag designating whether or not a predetermined logic operation is executed to the arithmetic result is set to the mode register 20. When the register group 40 stores the arithmetic result, the mode register 20 corresponding to the register being the register group 40 designated on the program is referred as a register which stores the arithmetic result. Thus, a predetermined arithmetic and logic operation to the arithmetic result is controlled.

  • Patent number: 6437840
Abstract: A display device and an electronic timepiece displays information, such as numerical information, and the background has a glossy silver metallic tone, to give the display a quality appearance. The display device and the electronic timepiece includes a polarizer, a liquid crystal panel, and a polarization separating film. The polarization separating film transmits linearly polarized light oriented in a certain direction and reflects all other linearly polarized light. The surface of the polarization separating film which opposes the liquid crystal panel, is formed into a smooth surface which specularly reflects light, and a light-scattering layer is not provided therebetween. Light, reflected from the polarization separating film, is used to produce a glossy silver background color or information display with a metallic tone in order to give the display a quality appearance.

  • Patent number: 4092099
Abstract: A thermal fusing device for softening toner images is provided in combination with a transport at the exit of the fuser which transport is characterized by a pair of nip-forming members one of which is provided with a plurality of recesses for receiving belt structures fabricated from a silicone rubber material. A second roll is provided also having recesses for receiving the belts and this roll is positioned remotely from the first mentioned roll so that the belts are entrained about the two rolls such that they protrude from the recesses to thereby provide a nip-forming roll wherein only the belts contact the toner material carried by the copy substrate. Additionally, a fan is provided for cooling the surface of the belt so that the toner will more readily solidify and the paper can be stripped therefrom due to the beam strength of the paper.
