    Abstract: In a network system including a plurality of clients and two or more DHCP servers, each of the clients acquires respective IP addresses from the DHCP servers, finds respective differences between each of the acquired IP addresses and the reference address, selects a DHCP server which assigns an IP address whose distance from the reference address is smallest, and requests use of the IP address to the selected DHCP server.
