The first device transmits the measurement data and data indicating the first value to the second device. The second device includes a second calculation unit, and a comparison unit. The second device receives the measurement data and the first value transmitted from the first device, and calculates a second value relating to the specific index from the measurement data. The comparison unit compares the first value with the second value.

Abstract: An information management method and an information processing device functioning as a node are provided to enable an effective use of information distributed to, and shared with, a plurality of nodes on a network and to enable maintenance of security against leakage of information by controlling information retention. This management method of information gathers information distributed to, and shared with, a plurality of the nodes on a network and holds the information in a state accessible from other nodes to a temporary information memory unit when generating restored information. The information management method is also characterized in setting a flag for showing a history of the information and immediately discarding the information in the case that the retention of restored information becomes improper from a view point of contents of the flag.

Upon the authentication of a terminal used as the node in the network, when the terminal can communicate with another terminal, the terminal sends an electronic certificate of the terminal per se to the other terminal and requests the other terminal to perform an authentication process of the terminal per se. Conversely, when the terminal cannot communicate with any other terminal, the terminal outputs the electronic certificate of the terminal per se to an authentication device and requests the authentication device to perform authentication of the terminal per se. The authentication device performs authentication of the terminal based on the outputted electronic certificate.

Abstract: In a data input/output system having a plurality of input devices and a plurality of output devices, a display can be performed with a consistency maintained between an input parameter used to establish the operational condition of an input device to be used for data input and an output parameter used to establish the operational condition of an output device to be used for data output, and thereby the data input/output system, a data input/output method and a data input/output system control apparatus can be provided, wherein an optimum establishment of setting items which are related to a combination between input and output devices required in a case where a multiple of input and output devices are connected to one another can be easily done with reliability by use of a minimum number of operations and thereby eliminating erroneous operations.

Abstract: Provided are an authentication method, authentication system and a terminal device in which the authentication of a non-participating third node is can be simplified and can be executed in the case of multicast by using an authentication ticket in a distributed processing network system, the non-participating third node being intended to access each of the nodes, including a first and a second node, constituting a workgroup. The first node that has already participated in the workgroup authenticates the third node intended to participate in the workgroup and issues the authentication ticket including the signatures of both nodes, and when the authentication ticket is submitted to the second node, the second node permits the third node to access, without password-based-authentication, by authenticating the first node and the second node which have signed the authentication ticket.

Abstract: A network management method and system is provided that issues a digital certificate easily and safely. A digital certificate is issued to a personal computer that is to newly join a network by the following method. A provisional authentication server issues a first digital certificate that is a provisional certificate of the personal computer. The personal computer enters the first digital certificate and a private key corresponding thereto. The personal computer and a formal authentication server establish a connection for encryption communication based on the first digital certificate. After establishing the connection, the formal authentication server generates a second digital certificate that is a formal digital certificate of the personal computer. Further, an experimental network independent of the network is prepared and participation of a personal computer having the first digital certificate into the experimental network is allowed.
