  • Patent number: 12026500
Abstract: An external communication unit receives, from a server, update information including information indicating an update target device whose software is to be updated among devices and information indicating a generation source device among the devices, the generation source device being installed with generation source software that is a source for generating update data to be used for updating update target software installed in the update target device. An update data generating unit generates, on the basis of the update information, the update data using the generation source software installed in a host device of the update data generating unit, when the host device is the generation source device. A software update unit updates, on the basis of the update information, the update target software installed in a host device of the software update unit using the generated update data, when the host device is the update target device.

  • Patent number: 5134388
Abstract: A determination is made as to which one of plural objects is proximate a region having a coil therein. Each object includes a tuned circuit having a different resonant frequency. AC energy at the different resonant frequencies is supplied to the coil. The tuned circuit on the particular object in the region having substantially the same resonant frequency as the AC energy supplied to the coil causes a change in the current flowing in the coil at the same resonant frequency. The change in the current flowing in the coil at the same resonant frequency is sensed. In response to the current change at the same resonant frequency the particular object having the tuned circuit with the same resonant frequency as the frequency of the applied AC energy is indicated with a phase detector arrangement responsive to the changed current flowing in the coil at the same resonant frequency and a reference wave at the same resonant frequency.

  • Patent number: 5023408
Abstract: A characteristic and the position of an implement with a tuned circuit having one of plural resonant frequencies are determined. AC energy at the plural different resonant frequencies is supplied to a two-coordinate direction coil arrangement of a position sensing tablet. The tuned circuit changes the current flowing in the coil arrangement at the implement resonant frequency. The current change is used to signal the implement position and characteristic. The implement may be an eraser for supplying a signal to an electronic display and for removing a mark from a surface of a visual display overlaying the tablet of the eraser. A housing includes a surface for erasing the marking and two tuned circuits each having a reactance positioned close to opposite edges of the erasing surface. Two switches, when activated, cause the tuned circuits to have different resonant frequencies. The switches are respectively activated when opposite eraser edges are being pushed against the display surface.

  • Patent number: 4777531
Abstract: A picture-in-picture type television receiver in which a sub-picture is displayed inset into a main picture. In the television receiver of this invention the viewer, by operating a single control switch, can cause the receiver to display as the sub-picture either a moving picture or a still picture taken from either the main picture or the sub-picture at a selected point in time, at the viewer's option. When the still picture is taken from the main picture, a new still picture is displayed each time the control switch is operated, whereas when the still picture is taken from the sub-picture, the display of the still picture and the display of a real moving picture are alternately carried out each time the control switch is operated.

  • Patent number: 4774582
Abstract: A television receiver of the type which simultaneously displays a main, live picture and one or more sub-pictures inset therein and which is provided with a step-by-step switch and associated circuitry which allows the user to operate the step-by-step switch and either display the main, live picture and as sub-pictures, a series of still pictures taken at different points in time from the main picture, or the main, live picture and as sub-pictures a series of still pictures taken at different points in time from a second video signal along with a live sub-picture of the second video signal.

  • Patent number: 4689684
Abstract: In a television receiver with a digital processing system for processing display parameters, a CRT discharge detector produces a signal in response to discharge of the cathode ray tube of the television receiver, and a control-reset circuit employs a signal for generating one or more reset pulses for holding the registers of the signal processing circuits in their reset state for the duration of the cathode ray tube discharge. Following termination of the discharge, the reset signal is removed which allows the signal processing circuits to resume their normal function with unaltered data.
