Abstract: A foldable and detachable seat for a motor vehicle, which has a seat detaching device which comprises a base member secured to a seat cushion and defining at spaced portions thereof first and second cuts which are sized and arranged to mate with respective pins provided on a floor; first and second latching mechanisms mounted to the base member to incorporate with the first and second cuts respectively, the latching mechanisms being capable of latching the spaced portions of the base member with the pins of the floor when the pins are properly put into the first and second cuts; a connecting rod extending between the first and second latching mechanisms to allow synchronous operation of the mechanisms; and an operation handle held by the base member and linked to the connecting rod, so that upon manipulation of the handle, the connecting rod is moved in a given direction to cause the first and second lataching mechanisms to assume their pin unlatching positions.

Abstract: A seat cushion is disclosed which comprises a rectangularly extending frame having opposed side portions; a flat sheet member arranged within a space defined by the rectangular frame; connecting devices for connecting each side portion of the flat sheet member to one of the opposed side portions of the frame; a plastic panel member having side portions raised, the plastic member being disposed on the flat sheet member leaving between each of the raised side portions and corresponding one of the opposed side portions of the frame a generally wedge-shaped clearance; a cushion structure tightly mounted on the plastic panel in such a manner that side portions of the cushion structure are raised by the raised side portions of the plastic panel; and two cushion pad units respectively received in the wedge-shaped clearances defined below the raised side portions of the plastic panel member.

Abstract: A buffer device for use to the seats of vehicles provided with a pair of links arranged parallel to each other between floor brackets and an upper frame of the seat to form a parallel linkage mechanism. The upper ends of the links are swingably attached to the upper shafts and a connector rod are supported by the upper shafts at both ends thereof, so that a second parallel linkage mechanism can be formed by the connector rod and a line passing through the centers of the upper shafts. The connector rod prevents the links from being inclined independently of the other when the links are inclined nearly horizontal, thereby enabling the device to be made stable when the links are nearly horizontal.

Abstract: A device for forwardly and backwardly adjusting a head-rest according to the invention comprises a base plate fixed to stays extending above a back of a seat for an automobile and provided at its ends with lower rails formed with anchoring apertures, a slide formed on its upper surface with guides and on both sides with upper rails to be fitted with the lower rails, a flat plate-like locking lever traversely slidable within the guide of the slide and having a pair of anchoring pieces extending downwardly to engage in the anchoring apertures of the lower rails, a spring for urging the locking lever in one direction, and a cover for covering the base plate and the slide. With this arrangement, the position of the head-rest can be slidably adjusted by pushing the locking lever against the resilient force of the spring, and the head-rest can then be fixed at a desired position by releasing the locking lever.
