  • Publication number: 20230064738
Abstract: A robot includes a body having an internal opening. The robot further includes a first wheel configured to deploy out of the internal opening and to retract into the internal opening. The robot further includes a second wheel configured to deploy out of the internal opening and to retract into the internal opening. The robot further includes a sensor configured to determine a location of the robot. The robot further includes a controller configured to control each of the first wheel and the second wheel, wherein in response to the location of the robot being at a predetermined location, the controller is configured to cause the second wheel to deploy out of the internal opening and to cause the first wheel to retract into the internal opening.

  • Patent number: 10196104
Abstract: An example method includes determining a plurality of candidate support regions for a support member of a robotic device. The method also includes determining a support region score (SRS) for each candidate support region, wherein the SRS for a given candidate support region depends on a surface geometry of the given candidate support region. The method additionally includes determining an adjacent relation scores (ARS) for each candidate support region, wherein the ARS for a particular candidate support region is based at least on a plurality of SRSs of a plurality of support regions surrounding the particular candidate support region. Based on the determined SRSs and the determined ARSs, the method further includes selecting at least one support region from the plurality of candidate support regions and providing instructions for the robotic device to place the support member on the at least one selected support region.

  • Patent number: 9800973
Abstract: An implementation operable by a device coupled to a sound sensor array including a plurality of sound sensors in a particular arrangement is provided. The implementation involves obtaining a plurality of simulated responses mapping respective simulated physical arrangements of one or more simulated sound sources to respective expected outputs from the sound sensor array. The implementation also involves receiving a response based on output from the sound sensor array. The response may indicate detection of sounds from a plurality of sound sources in an environment of the sound sensor array. The implementation also involves comparing the received response with at least one of the plurality of simulated responses. The implementation also involves estimating locations of the plurality of sound sources relative to the sound sensor array based on the comparison. The implementation also involves operating the device based on the estimated locations of the plurality of sound sources.

  • Patent number: 9089778
Abstract: A server device executes one battle by spending the spending parameter in response to a player's operational input, and recovers the spending parameter by using a recovery item owned by the player. The server device calculates the total number of recovery items used to recover the spending parameter when one battle is fought for a plurality of times while repeating spending and recovering the spending parameter in response to operational inputs from the player until a hit point parameter of the enemy character is brought to less than or equal to a value. In response to one special operational input from the player, the server device determines whether the number of recovery items owned by the player is greater than or equal to the total number of recovery items calculated. When the determination is affirmative, the total number of recovery items calculated is automatically used from among the recovery items.

  • Patent number: 7985125
Abstract: A dart game apparatus includes an image display body which displays an image of a target; a panel body, which has a plurality of holes each with a cross-sectional size substantially the same as that of an end of a soft dart, which is also formed, extending toward each hole, with an inclined surface in a ridge taken as a border between adjacent holes. A coordinate detecting body is disposed on a front surface of the panel body and detects coordinates of the position of the soft dart, the end of which is inserted into any of the plurality of holes. The coordinate detecting body has at least four rims, in which so as to correspond to the four rims two pairs of a light-emitting sensor section and a light-receiving sensor section for detecting light emitted by the light-emitting sensor section are provided respectively on the rims arranged face-to-face in parallel.
