Abstract: A compound represented by the general formula A-Q (wherein A represents a yellow dye image-forming coupler residue having the active methylene group from which one hydrogen atom has been replaced and Q represents a tetrazolyl group substituted at the 5-position with hydrogen, a halogen, a cyano, an alkyl, an aralkyl, an aryl, an alkyl-amino or an arylamino group) is used as a yellow dye image-forming coupler for obtaining yellow dye images that have good spectral absorption characteristics, and good stability to prolonged exposure to light, heat and high humidity.
