  • Patent number: 6371857
Abstract: A torsional vibration damper assembly having stable torsional vibration damping characteristics is provided. The damper assembly comprises an input element, an output element, a damper hub operatively connected to the output element and having a plurality of circumferentially spaced, radial hub arms, a drive plate operatively connected to the input element and having a plurality of circumferentially spaced windows, a plurality of compression springs extending between circumferentially opposed edges of the windows and the hub arms, and a ring member rotatable relative to the input and output elements and surrounding the compression springs for restricting radially outward bending of the compression springs. Since the ring member is not urged against its surrounding constituent parts of the damper assembly when it is subjected to a centrifugal force of itself and a centrifugal force of the compression springs, the damper assembly can provide stable torsional vibration damping characteristics.

  • Patent number: 5465635
Abstract: A crankshaft assembly for an internal combustion engine includes a crankshaft, an elastic member fixed to the crankshaft, and a flywheel fixed to the elastic member such that the flywheel is supported in an elastic relationship with the crankshaft. The elastic member has a rigidity in its rotating direction large enough to effectively transmit a driving power to a transmission through a clutch. On the other hand, the elastic member has a rigidity in an axial direction of the crankshaft small enough to shift a resonance frequency of a bending vibration out of a target frequency band of a forced vibration, while ensuring to prevent a failure of disengagement of the clutch.

  • Patent number: 4766088
Abstract: A semiconductor memory device is provided with a memory region including SAMOS type memory transistors and a non-memory or peripheral region including MOS transistors which are interconnected to form logic circuits such as decoders for controlling the operation of each of said memory transistors. Each of the transistors includes a pair of first and second doped polysilicon layers and an interlayer insulating film provided as sandwiched between the pair of first and second doped polysilicon layers. In the memory region, the first and second doped polysilicon layers define floating and control gate electrodes, respectively; whereas, in the non-memory region, the first and second doped polysilicon layers are electrically interconnected by a through-the-layer electrode formed through the interlayer insulating film.

  • Patent number: 4720816
Abstract: A system and method for programming an EPROM which includes a bit line, a plurality of memory cell MOS transistors connected to the bit line, a switching transistor for selectively applying a programming voltage to the bit line, and a selection circuit for selecting one of the memory transistors for programming. In accordance with the principle of the present invention, when one of the memory transistors is selected for programming, the programming voltage is applied to the bit line and thus to the drain of the selected memory transistor and to the gate of the selected memory transistor. Then, even after termination of application of the programming voltage to the bit line, the programming voltage remains to be applied to the gate for a predetermined time period, thereby allowing charge stored in the parasitic capacitance of the bit line to be completely discharged through the selected transistor.
