  • Patent number: 6624809
Abstract: A displayed information management method allowing easy operation of a portable communication apparatus is disclosed. After selecting data from a set of data according to a desired condition inputted through a ten-key pad, a sequential index number is added to each piece of selected data. The sequential index number is not greater than a maximum number of lines displayable on the display. Each piece of the selected data accompanied with a sequential index number is displayed on the display. A desired piece of selected data is selected by a user inputting a sequential index number accompanying the desired piece of selected data through the ten-key pad.

  • Patent number: 6201973
Abstract: A mobile communication apparatus having a transceiver is provided with a location calculator which calculates a location of the mobile communication apparatus based on three radio control signals each received from a different base station. A plurality of transmission inhibition areas of data are stored in a memory and the transceiver is controlled depending on whether the location of the mobile communication apparatus is within one of the transmission inhibition areas.

  • Patent number: 6118996
Abstract: A mobile communication system includes a one-way communication system where a wide area base station forms a wide one-way communication area and a two-way communication system having a cellular service area which is formed by a plurality of cell base stations each forming a cellular two-way communication area. A mobile terminal can communicate with the one-way communication system and the two-way communication system. Further, a system controller connected to the one-way communication system and the two-way communication system controls mobile communications in the wide one-way communication area and/or the cellular service area. The system controller transfers data addressed to a mobile terminal to the mobile terminal through a selected one of the one-way communication system and the two-way communication system.

  • Patent number: 5995838
Abstract: A mobile communication apparatus includes a wide area receiver and a cell transceiver. The wide area receiver which is operable at relatively low power receives a selective calling signal from a wide area base station that forms a wide one-way communication area. The cell transceiver operable at higher power than the wide area receiver performs two-way communication with a nearest cell base station that forms a two-way communication area. The wide area receiver is caused to operate at all times. However, when the mobile communication apparatus exists outside the wide one-way communication area, the transceiver is caused to start operating.

  • Patent number: 5839077
Abstract: In a radio transmission system having a master station and plural slave stations connected to the master station via a radio transmission path, the master station has a master error correcting section including plural master error correcting methods and each of the slave stations has a slave error correcting section including plural slave error correcting methods identical with the master error correcting methods. A detection section detects an upward error rate for an upward transmission path to produce a detected error rate. A monitoring section compares the detected error rate with a predetermined reference value to produce degradation information when the detected error rate is larger than the predetermined reference value. Responsive to the degradation information, a master switching section supplies the master error correcting section with a switch control signal. A master radio section sends the switch control signal via a downward transmission path to the slave stations.

  • Patent number: 5506546
Abstract: In a method for generating a transmitting wave, a power supply voltage to be supplied to a transmission power amplifier is detected by a voltage detector, and a modulating signal is controlled so that a peak value of a modulated wave is lowered in accordance with a reduction amount of the power supply voltage. Since the peak value of the modulated wave input to the power amplifier is lowered, it is possible to obtain a transmitting wave without a distortion of the wave form or an increased bandwidth even when the reduction in the power supply voltage involves the lowering of the driving capability of the power amplifier.
