  • Patent number: 6867517
Abstract: A rectifier of an alternator includes positive and negative rectifier elements. Each rectifier element has a lead wire connected thereto, and a vicinity of a portion connecting the lead wire to the element is sealed with a material such as resin or rubber, forming a sealing portion. To protect the sealing portion against harmful components contained in cooling air blown to the rectifier, a conically shaped terminal connected to the lead wire is disposed to face and cover the sealing portion. The terminal has a sufficiently large surface area for dissipating heat generated in a process of connecting the lead wire to the terminal by welding.

  • Publication number: 20050027423
Abstract: The evaluation system for vehicle operating conditions comprises an automatic control device (10, 27) for setting target vehicle operating conditions and controlling the vehicle so as to achieve the target operating conditions, and a display device (4) mounted on the vehicle. The system determines whether operation that worsens fuel economy has been performed or not on the basis of the operating conditions of the vehicle; determines the operating state of the automatic control device (10, 27) based on the operating conditions of the vehicle; computes the excess fuel consumption, which is the fuel amount consumed in excess by operation that worsens the fuel economy, based on operating conditions of the vehicle and the operating state of the automatic control device (10, 27); and displays the computed excess fuel consumption to the display device (4).

  • Publication number: 20050021222
Abstract: A calculation unit (3) determines whether or not an operation which worsens fuel economy has been performed, and if it is determined that an operation which worsens fuel economy has been performed, the calculation unit (3) respectively calculates the actual amount of consumed fuel and an amount of fuel that would have been consumed had the operation that worsens fuel economy not been performed. The calculation unit (3) then calculates an amount of fuel consumed in excess due to the operation which worsens fuel economy by subtracting the amount of fuel that would have been consumed had the operation that worsens fuel economy not been performed from the actual amount of consumed fuel. A display (4) displays the calculated excess fuel consumption amount.

  • Publication number: 20040217663
Abstract: A phase terminal for taking out a phase voltage from armature windings is electrically connected to a detector terminal extending from a voltage regulator. The phase terminal is sandwiched by the detector terminal bent in a U-shape and welded thereto by resistance welding. To suppress current bypassing a welding position in the resistance welding process, a slit window is formed in the U-shaped portion. Since electrical resistance in the U-shaped portion is increased by the slit window, a sufficient amount of welding current becomes available for welding the phase terminal to the detector terminal.

  • Patent number: 6694806
Abstract: An engine performance map which specifies the relation between running conditions and brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC) is generated by estimating the BSFC relative to the engine rotation speed and accelerator depression amount, based on the BSFC characteristics predicted from the torque pattern of the vehicle being analyzed and the optimum BSFC. A vehicle mounted unit 1 computes the BSFC of the engine by looking up the engine performance map based on the engine rotation speed and accelerator depression amount, and computes the fuel consumption rate based on this BSFC.

  • Patent number: 6694245
Abstract: A computing unit 3 of an analysis device 1 calculates a weight of fuel consumed by an engine 10 based on the weight of intake air and air fuel ratio of an engine of a vehicle to be analyzed detected by an air flow meter 14 and an air-fuel ratio sensor 16, and computes a fuel consumption rate based thereon and the running distance. The computation of fuel consumption rate does not require an injection pulse signal, so the fuel consumption rate can be precisely computed even for a vehicle which does not have an injection pulse signal such as a non-EGI vehicle or a diesel engine vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6177069
Abstract: A laminated deodorant filter medium is constituted by a plurality of laminate units laminated together; each of which includes a fiber web constituted by a connecting portion and a resin-aggregating portion, both of which are made of a hotmelt resin, and a deodorant particle firmly attached to one surface of the fiber web by way of the resin-aggregating portion. Employable as the deodorant particle is at least two kinds of deodorant particles including an acidic odor deodorant particle, an alkaline odor deodorant particle, and a physically adsorbing particle. As the resin-aggregating portion is formed at a part where a hotmelt nonwoven fabric and the deodorant particle are in contact with each other, the deodorant particle can be firmly attached to the fiber web as a single layer without using a binder, whereby a deodorant filter medium having a low pressure loss and high efficiency can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 5121867
Abstract: A paper transferring apparatus in an electrophotograph type printer includes rollers for transferring out papers from a hopper and through a transferrinng section to a discharge port, as well as first and second tractors for transferring continuous papers from the inlet port through the transferring section and to the discharge port. A motor provides a common driving source for both the rollers and the tractor. Clutches are provided for selectively connecting and disconnection the rollers and the tractors to the motor as a function of whether a cut paper mode or a continuous paper mode is selected by a control unit.
