  • Publication number: 20110287760
Abstract: A method of detecting an inappropriate cell ID in an environment in which synchronization using reference signals is not ensured in adjacent cells, without employing a method of using a report from an adjacent base station. A mobile station (UE) stores occurrence of an event in which synchronization using a reference signal has been lost with a cell being in a state of call connection, synchronization has been achieved again with a cell having a same cell ID as the cell with which the synchronization has been lost, and then the call connection has been released. The mobile station (UE) notifies occurrence of the event to a base station together with the cell ID when a call connection is subsequently made.

  • Patent number: 7626971
Abstract: By separating a function responsible for a control plane and a function responsible for a user plane into physically independent devices, a radio access network system, in which expandability and flexibility of a network is enhanced, is obtained. In the radio access network (RAN) system, the RAN is so designed that a server responsible for the control plane (CPS) and a server responsible for the user plane (UPS) are physically separated from each other. In response to an external request, a logical connection is set between the CPS and the UPS. For identification of the logical connection, mapping between a mobile unit or a radio bearer and the logical connection is managed using a logical connection ID. Thus, the CPS and UPS can independently be added or removed in a system configuration, thus enhancing the scalability of a mobile communication system.

  • Publication number: 20090116491
Abstract: A communication system capable of making a communication utilizing a plurality of transport resources by exchanging control signals between communication devices. A single control signal transmitted and received between the communication devices contains information indicating that a transport resource is being utilized for the communication. The communication device comprises transport resource management section 11 for managing the state of the transport resources and control signal control section 10 for transmitting and receiving the control signals.

  • Publication number: 20090010220
Abstract: In order to obtain a Drift RNC capable of physically separating a C-plane and a T-plane from each other by defining a new signal between the C-plane and the T-plane, new signals 300 are defined and introduced between a C-plane 31 and a T-plane 32 in a Drift RNC 30. The new signals 300 are Binding ID acquisition request/response signals and a transmission line control success notification signal. Thus, signals 300 are newly provided between a C-plane and a T-plane for the purpose of acquiring a Binding ID. Therefore, a Binding ID can be acquired without sending a transmission line signal. Furthermore, a signal is newly provided for the T-plane to notify the C-plane of completion of transmission line control between the Node B, the Drift RNC, and the Serving RNC. Therefore, the C-plane can recognize the completion of the related process. As a result, the Drift RNC can operate without contradiction even though the C-plane and the T-plane are physically separated from each other.

  • Publication number: 20080214194
Abstract: Setting unit 103 stores a first call. When communication unit 101 receives a relocation request, management unit 104 generates a new call different from the first call, and new call information, and adds the new call information to the new call.

  • Publication number: 20060223586
Abstract: A W-CDMA mobile communication system, capable of providing, between T-plane and C-plane, a control system for transport resources with high independency and simplicity, which controls transport resources through respective interfaces between RNC and CN, RNC, Node B by linking a call in mobile terminal with call information “1” to “4” in CID unit of ALCAP and defining single identifiers “1” to “4” of single identifiers (call information) in a call of the mobile terminal.

  • Publication number: 20060116136
Abstract: In response to an external trigger for paging processing start, a CPS (41) decides paging group information according to the terminal identification information contained in the external trigger (S3) and passes the paging group information to a UPS (42) in charge of the user plane (S6). The UPS generates radio channel setting information for paging according to the paging group information (S8). The paging information passed between the CPS and the UPS is information of paging group not radio-depending. The UPS converts this information into radio-dependent information when performing paging. Accordingly, the C-U separation of the RNC (4) becomes possible and the CPS and the UPS can develop without depending on each other.

  • Publication number: 20050153710
Abstract: In a system where a plurality of position registration methods are used, edge nodes (310, 320) or higher order communication nodes convert, if necessary, position registration signals from mobile terminals (110, 120) and perform position registrations in accordance with connected networks (201, 202). Alternatively, the mobile terminals, the edge nodes or the like automatically select and use appropriate position registration methods in accordance with usages or conditions of the mobile terminals, such as the types of applications utilized by the mobile terminals.
