  • Patent number: 7428071
Abstract: An image forming system includes a plurality of image forming devices with a plurality of functions relating to the image formation. An image forming device, to which an image input from one of the image forming devices is to be output can be selected from the image forming devices. The image forming devices designate either one of an automatic destination device selecting mode or an individual destination device selecting mode from inputting operation through an operating part, and acquire function information representing a plurality of functions relating to the image formation from the image forming devices with a CPU. The CPU controls the display of information about the functions relating to the image formation on an information input screen displayed on an LCD of the operating part according to the designated destination device selecting mode and the acquired function information.

  • Publication number: 20060136576
Abstract: There is provided a web browser operation method and operation apparatus capable of preferably setting an access restriction function for restricting access of a web browser to be used by an unspecified number of users. First, content acquired from a web server is displayed on a display based on a format described in the content. An operation tool for performing operations related to processing of the content is also displayed on the screen. When an operation instruction is inputted by a user with the use of the operation tool, processing related to the displayed content is performed based on the operation instruction. In this case, restrictions are set on operation instructions by the user among operation instructions, and selection by the user of tool portions corresponding to the set restrictions, among tool portions which can be specified by the operation tool, are set as disabled.

  • Publication number: 20060101078
Abstract: The present invention provides an image processing apparatus and an image processing method, which can improve security and reinforce privacy protection for cache data and management data generated when an operator employs a browser function, and which can efficiently utilize storage resources of the apparatus. In the image processing apparatus having a browser function, data generated by an operator employing the browser function is stored in the RAM. Herein, it is determined whether or not the operator employing the browser function is a particular operator such as a system administrator. In a case where the browser function is employed by an operator other than the particular operator, the data stored in the RAM is deleted. Meanwhile, in a case of the particular operator, the data is stored in a hard disk drive (HDD).

  • Publication number: 20060092450
Abstract: There are provided an image forming apparatus, an image forming system, and a sheet feeding source designation control method, which are capable of preventing a user from failing to carry out proper settings to thereby avoid printing using an undesired sheet cassette, and also capable of allowing a user to change to another type of sheet feeding than manual feeding immediately if he or she desires to do so, and storage media storing programs for executing the methods. The size of at least one sheet for manual feeding can be designated by a device or a job. It is determined whether or not a manual feed tray can be designated as a sheet feeding source if the sheet size is designated by the device or the job, and the manual feed tray is designated as the sheet feeding source when it is so determined.
