Abstract: There is provided a nonaqueous electrolyte that can suppress swelling of a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery. A nonaqueous electrolyte for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery 1 contains a lithium salt, vinylene carbonate, and a compound represented by general formula (1) below. In the general formula (1), X is an alkylene group with 2 to 4 carbon atoms that may have a substituent. Rf is a fluorine-containing linear or branched alkyl group with 1 to 6 carbon atoms. R is a linear, branched, or cyclic alkyl group with 1 to 6 carbon atoms that may have a substituent.

Abstract: The object is to obtain a positive electrode for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery capable of suppressing gas generation even if continuous charging is performed at a high temperature. Provided is a positive electrode for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprising a positive-electrode active material, wherein the positive-electrode active material has a surface-treated layer with a silane coupling agent represented by the following general formula (1): X1-Y—X2 ??(1) wherein Y is an alkylene group having 10 or less carbon atoms, and X1 and X2 are each represented by the general formula (2): wherein Z is an alkyl group having 10 or less carbon atoms or OR3, and R1, R2 and R3, are each an alkyl group having 5 or less carbon atoms.
