  • Patent number: 5367016
Abstract: A reinforced resin composition comprising 100 parts by weight of a resin component comprising a polycarbonate resin, a thermoplastic polyester resin and an impact modifier in a ratio, by weight, of 90-10:10-90:0-40 and 0.5 to 100 parts by weight of kaolin with a mean particle diameter of 0.1 to 4.0 .mu.m. The composition can be molded by conventional techniques such as injection molding and extrusion molding into automotive parts, electrical or electronic parts and other products excellent in heat resistance, impact resistance, rigidity, dimensional stability, chemical resistance, moldability, weather resistance and thermal stability with a low linear coefficient of expansion and excellent surface gloss and appearance.

  • Patent number: 5270104
Abstract: An unsaturated polyester resin composition comprising:(a) 30 to 99% by weight of an unsaturated polyester resin comprising a crosslinking monomer and an unsaturated alkyd obtained by reacting at least dicyclopentadiene (hereinafter abbreviated as "DCPD"), an unsaturated polycarboxylic acid and a polyhydric alcohol, and(b) 1 to 70% by weight of a hardness adjusting unsaturated polyester resin.Sheets of base material can be impregnated with the resin composition effectively to give a laminate which is satisfactorily punchable at low temperatures and yet has high resistance to thermal softening and outstanding electrical characteristics.

  • Patent number: 4710420
Abstract: An unsaturated polyester resin composition is provided comprising a hard unsaturated polyester component, a soft unsaturated polyester component and a cross-linking monomer. The soft polyester component contains a polyoxyalkylene segment having a molecular weight from 600 to 6000 in the backbone thereof and is dispersed in the hard polyester component forming fine particles having a particle size not greater than 4 microns. The resin composition, when cured, exhibits a Tg corresponding to the hard polyester component from 100.degree. C. to 200.degree. C. and another Tg corresponding to the soft polyester component from -100.degree. C. to 0.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 4493913
Abstract: A flame resistant resin composition comprising (a) a synthetic resin, (b) red phosphorus coated with a thermosetting resin and (c) a filler. The coated red phosphorus is useful as a flame retardant for various synthetic resins, particularly thermoplastic polyesters such as polyalkylene terephthalates, and can impart the flame resistance to the resins without impairing heat stability and electric characteristics. The use of the coated rod phosphorus in combination with talc is particularly preferred.
