  • Patent number: 9355648
Abstract: A voice separation means 82 separates an input voice of a volume adjusted by an input volume adjustment means 81, into a voice recognition voice and a monitoring voice. A monitoring volume adjustment means 83 adjusts a volume of the monitoring voice. An output volume adjustment means 84 adjusts a volume of an output voice and causes an output device to output the output voice of the adjusted volume, the output voice being a voice obtained by synthesizing a synthetic voice and the monitoring voice of the volume adjusted by the monitoring volume adjustment means 83, the synthetic voice being a voice synthesized from information generated as a result of voice recognition of the voice recognition voice. A control means 85 instructs the monitoring volume adjustment means 83 to adjust the volume of the monitoring voice so that an amplification factor of the volume of the output voice with respect to the volume of the input voice does not exceed 1.

  • Patent number: 8165882
Abstract: Apparatus and method for generating high quality synthesized speech having smooth waveform concatenation. The apparatus includes a pitch frequency calculation section, a pitch synchronization position calculation section, a unit waveform storage, a unit waveform selection section, a unit waveform generation section, and a waveform synthesis section. The unit waveform generation section includes a conversion ratio calculation section, a sampling rate conversion section, and a unit waveform re-selection section. The conversion ratio calculation section calculates a sampling rate conversion ratio from the pitch information and the position of pitch synchronization, and the sampling rate conversion section converts the sampling rate of the unit waveform, delivered as input, based on the sampling rate conversion ratio.

  • Patent number: 7896461
Abstract: A fluid discharge device suppresses discharge defects caused by adhesion of fluid spray and maintains a good fluid discharge condition. A printer and a media processing device include the fluid discharge device. An inkjet head has ink nozzles for discharging ink. A box-shaped head cap 82 has an opening that can seal the nozzle surface to which the ink nozzles of the inkjet head are disposed. The head cap 82 has a lip 92 that can contact the nozzle surface. The lip 92 has an inside slope 93 and an outside slope 94 that incline gradually toward the nozzle surface to a point when seen in cross section. The inside slope 93 of the lip 92 is rendered as a smooth part 93a with lower surface roughness than a coarse part 94b rendered on the outside slope 94.

  • Patent number: 5550054
Abstract: Novel hematopoietic-restricted tyrosine kinases are provided, where the tyrosine kinases provide for autophosphorylation and transphosphorylation. Modulation of the activity of the subject compositions can be used to restrict growth and differentiation, to correct genetic deficiencies, and to elucidate the activation pathway involved with the subject tyrosine kinases. In addition, the tyrosine kinases may be used in a variety of assays as a label or in the production of the phosphorylated peptides.

  • Patent number: 5432886
Abstract: In a speech recognition device including a similarity calculator for calculating a usual similarity as a provisional similarity between an input pattern and prepared reference patterns, a calculating arrangement calculates a reference similarity between the input pattern and produced reference patterns. A correcting unit corrects the provisional similarity by the reference similarity into a corrected similarity. As usual, the similarity may be a dissimilarity. The prepared reference patterns may be memorized in the calcultor or be given by concatenations of primary recognition units. Preferably, the produced reference patterns are concatenations of secondary recognition units memorized in a memory.

  • Patent number: 4649097
Abstract: Disclosed is a corona discharge apparatus capable of producing a uniform corona electrical charging which has a discharge electrode and a grounded roller wherein a metal roller clad with an insulating layer of or containing a high-permittivity substance is used as the grounded roller or the discharge electrode in roller form. Excellent durability and physical strength of the roller keeping the advantage of producing uniformly distributed corona charge can be obtained by overlaying said insulating layer with a layer of insulators other than the high-permittivity substance used in the former layer. Further disclosed is a method for corona treatment using said apparatus.
