  • Patent number: 9250900
Abstract: Methods and systems for implementing a microprocessor with a selective register file bypass network are disclosed. Late bypasses are removed from a register file bypass network of a microprocessor design. One or more late bypasses are then added back to the register file bypass network based at least in part upon the results of analyzing a plurality of instructions that are to be processed in an instruction pipeline of the microprocessor. An electronic design for at least the register file bypass network is then generated with these one or more late bypasses that are added to the register file bypass network. Without incurring additional hardware or cost for the microprocessor design, one or more bypasses in the register file bypass network may be optionally shared among multiple free-riders, and an entire port stage may also be optionally bypassed to another port stage based upon one or more criteria.

  • Patent number: 8655297
Abstract: Disclosed are a nonlinear distortion compensating receiver and nonlinear distortion compensation method, wherein nonlinear distortion is reduced with a simple circuit configuration. A correction (opposite characteristics) filter (104) has characteristics opposite that of the frequency characteristics of a direct sampling mixer (102) and corrects signals sampled by the direct sampling mixer (102). In the main path, a LPF (106) extracts a frequency band component of a desired signal from the corrected signal. In the replica path, a BPF (107) extracts the frequency band component of a blocker signal from the corrected signal. A cubing circuit (108) uses the frequency band component of the blocker signal to generate a replica signal for the nonlinear distortion. An adaptive filter (110) performs filter processing on the replica signal while updating the filter coefficients.

  • Publication number: 20120142297
Abstract: A receiver includes an RF unit, a mixer which converts the output of the RF unit, a signal processing unit which filters the converted signal, a demodulator which demodulates the filtered signal, a level detector which compares a level of one of signals present between an input of the RF unit and an output of the signal processing unit with a threshold, a gain controller which generates a gain control signal based on the comparison result, a gate signal generator, and an interpolator. The receiver is configured such that a gain from the input of the RF unit to the output of the signal processing unit is changed in a stepwise manner. The gate signal generator generates a gate signal in synchronism with the gain change.
