  • Patent number: 5528976
Abstract: A compressor has a swash plate supported on a drive shaft for an integral rotation. The swash plate is coupled to a plurality of pistons reciprocally moveable in a cylinder block to compress gas therein. Reaction force of the compressed gas applied to the piston and causing axial load acting on the swash plate and the drive shaft is buffered by buffer structure. The buffer structure comprises a first bearing interposed between a first surface of the swash plate and the cylinder block. The buffer structure has a second bearing interposed between a second surface of the swash plate and the cylinder block. One of the bearings is arranged to be flexibly deformable to absorb the axial load while the other bearing is arranged to be rigid to receive the axial load and transmit the axial load to the cylinder block.

  • Patent number: 5244355
Abstract: A swash plate type compressor includes a cylinder blocks having a crank case which communicates with a suction port and a plurality of bores formed therein. The ends of each bore are covered with a pair of housings. The bores communicate with discharge chambers. A drive shaft is rotatably placed within the cylinder blocks. A swash plate is rotatable in the crank case, and is mounted on the drive shaft. A plurality of pistons are drivably coupled to the swash plate, and are reciprocotable in their respective bores. As the pistons reciprocate, a refrigerant in the crank case is sucked into each bore and is compressed therein. The compressed refrigerant is discharged into the discharge chambers from the bores. A passage for transporting the refrigerant between the discharge chambers is formed along the axis of the drive shaft. Seals are provided between the cylinder blocks and the drive shaft for sealing the gap between the discharge chambers and the crank case.

  • Patent number: 5078582
Abstract: A valve plate accommodated in a reciprocatory piston type compressor and arranged between an axial end of a cylinder block provided with a plurality of cylinder bores in which a plurality of double-headed pistons are reciprocated to compress a refrigerant gas, and a housing member provided with a suction chamber and a discharge chamber. The valve plate is provided with a plurality of suction ports communicating between the suction chamber and the plurality of cylinder bores and openably closed by suction valves, and a plurality of discharge ports communicating between the discharge chamber and the plurality of cylinder bores of the cylinder block. The valve plate is provided with surface portions extended around each of the discharge ports to be cooperable with the spring steel discharge valves for opening and closing the discharge ports, and formed to have 10 through 20 Rz surface roughness and a Vicker's hardness of 120 through 450.

  • Patent number: 5074768
Abstract: A piston compressor having cylinder blocks, each defining cylinder bores in which a piston is axially reciprocally arranged. Front and rear housings are connected to the cylinder blocks via valve port plates, so that compression chambers are formed between the valve port plates and the cylinder blocks and inlet and outlet chambers are formed between the valve port plates. The valve port plates form inlet and outlet ports for each of the compression chambers and inlet valves and outlet valves formed as thin resilient web members are provided for the inlet and outlet ports, respectively, to control the feeding and discharge of the gas, respectively. The valve port plates having, on the surfaces thereof facing the outlet valve around the inlet ports, a roughened area having a surface roughness value R.sub.z of between 10 to 25 .mu.m and an average spacing value L of between to 50 to 100 .mu.m.

  • Patent number: 4911614
Abstract: Noise is caused in a piston type compressor having a valve assembly including reed valves (13F, 14F) and a valve plate (10F) when the reed valves close and strike against the valve plate. The present invention provides a piston type compressor having a valve assembly including an elastic member (21F) and a thin valve sheet (20F) between the valve plate (10F) and the reed valves (14F), so that a shock caused by the reed valves striking the valve plate is absorbed, and the elastic member is protected by the thin valve sheet from damage usually caused by the striking thereof by the reed valves.
