Patent number: 8219131Abstract: To prevent a hung-up of communications due to changes in a radio wave condition resulting from frequent displacement of the terminals and changes in a number of the terminals, and to realize switching of the radio systems adapting to the radio condition. A radio communication system comprising: a base station for providing a plurality of radio systems, and terminals for communicating with the base station through the plurality of radio systems. The base station decides a priority of the radio system on which the each terminal will communicate thereafter and transmits paging signals of one of the plurality of radio systems which includes information on the decided priority to the each terminal.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 2008Date of Patent: July 10, 2012Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Ryouji Yamaoka, Junji Yamamoto, Koji Wakayama, Seishi Hanaoka, Takehiro Morishige, Masashi Yano, Toshiaki Suzuki, Satoshi Yoshizawa

Patent number: 7457239Abstract: A core network that includes a number of relay nodes and edge nodes, intercoupled by network links, interconnects a plurality data transfer entities through gateway elements. Each gateway element is allocated a portion of the data communicating (QoS) resource of certain of the links, and maintains information of that allocation. When a gateway receives a request for a data transfer from a data transfer entity with a particular communicating resource requirement, it will check its associated information to determine of the allocated resource is sufficient. If not, the gateway may ask for a reconfiguration of resources that re-allocate communicating resource from one gateway element to the asking gateway element.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 2001Date of Patent: November 25, 2008Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Daisuke Matsubara, Satoshi Yoshizawa, Kenichi Otsuki

Publication number: 20070066312Abstract: In ad hoc systems using OLSR, when a mobile node moves out of the fixed node's communication area, communication is impossible in the period from leaving the communication area until the time-out, even if there is a node to relay communications between the fixed node and mobile node. Switching from direct communication to 2-hop communication without interruption is therefore important for achieving continuous communication. Each node reports its position information and speed information to a neighbor mode. The fixed node compares that information with its own communication area, detects mobile node movement to outside the communication area from the mobile node's position and speed information, and switches beforehand to 2-hop communication via a relay node.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 17, 2006Publication date: March 22, 2007Inventors: Yusuke Shomura, Junji Yamamoto, Satoshi Yoshizawa

Publication number: 20060218300Abstract: A system is described which enables provision of information to a stored program operating on a computer coupled to the network. A device connected to the network includes input ports for receiving information and output ports for providing the received information to a destination. The computer is coupled to receive information from the output port, which information is addressed to the computer. Within the device a flow control table holds entries which include source addresses representative of at least one source of information arriving at the device input ports, destination addresses representative of at least one of the destinations to which the arriving information is to be sent from an output port. The table entries also include action information for each address, and the action information can take the form of a program reference. When the information is received by the computer it can use the received information in execution of the stored program.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 30, 2006Publication date: September 28, 2006Applicant: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Satoshi Yoshizawa, Kenichi Otsuki

Patent number: 6975645Abstract: When one-video program data (layer-coded data) of a plurality of layers is transmitted in a single channel, a video signal is layer-coded in an MPEG system, the layer-coded ES (Elementary Stream) data is converted to a PES (Packetized Elementary Stream) for each layer, and the PES is then converted to a RTP (Real-Time Protocol) packet, which is then converted to a UDP (User Datagram Protocol). An identifier is then annexed to a UDP packet data for each layer to form an IP (Internet Protocol) packet.Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 2000Date of Patent: December 13, 2005Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Toshiaki Suzuki, Satoshi Yoshizawa, Mitsuru Ikezawa, Itaru Mimura, Tatsuya Kameyama

Patent number: 6944169Abstract: A network system comprises a network of data sources interconnecting plural clients by way plural network devices. A data server achieves flexibility in its use of network resources by altering the attributes of one or more network devices along the communication channels between the data server and the plural clients. This is accomplished during the normal course of data transmissions to the plural clients, thus providing real time control over the network device attribute. The invention is particularly useful in data servers, such as a video server system, in which data transmissions are characterized by a long sequence of data packets.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2000Date of Patent: September 13, 2005Assignee: Hitachi America, Ltd.Inventors: Satoshi Yoshizawa, Kenichi Otsuki

Publication number: 20040008688Abstract: For on-demand Quality of Service (QoS) transmission of packets, in a data transmission network between users, service providers and network providers, a database links service providers and different paths of different QoS levels through the network, for contents delivery based upon a fee schedule related to QoS path usage duration and QoS path usage levels. In response to a user request, a requested QoS path is set-up on demand for delivery of contents over the network from the service provider. When the set-up is successful, payment from the service provider to the network provider is based upon the fee schedule. In response to a delivery failure over the set-up path, responsibility for the failure is determined and payment responsibility is adjusted according to the determined responsibility. Compensation is to the service provider when the network provider is responsible for a failure of delivery event.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 11, 2002Publication date: January 15, 2004Applicant: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Daisuke Matsubara, Satoshi Yoshizawa

Patent number: 6333933Abstract: At each network node, a packet classification unit makes a judgement to transfer only a packet necessary to be processed by software to a packet processing program processor and transfer other packets directly to a routing processor. Processing history information indicating the process history executed at each network node on a network route is transferred to the other network nodes so that other network nodes can store the processing history information in respective processing history repository table. Each node refers to this table and further transfers only the packet necessary to be processed by software to the packet processing processor.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 2001Date of Patent: December 25, 2001Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Satoshi Yoshizawa, Toshiaki Suzuki, Mitsuru Ikezawa, Itaru Mimura, Tatsuya Kameyama
