    Abstract: The present invention relates to an anti-fogging agent which is for preventing fogging even during exposure to vapor. The purpose of the present invention is to provide an ideal hydrolysis product of surface-active silane coupling agent and a transformed metal oxide sol which is transformed by means of a hydrolysis product of a surface-active silane coupling agent. A hydrolysis product of a surface-active silane coupling agent, according to the present invention, is a reaction product of a surfactant in formula (1) below and a silane coupling agent having the functional groups reactable with active hydrogen in formula (1). Formula (1): R1—X—(CH2CH2O)n—Y, wherein R1 is alkyl group having from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, X is —O—, —COO— or —CONH—, n is a natural number from 1 to 30, and Y is a hydrogen atom, —CH2COOH.

The protective group Pro may be removable by light exposure in association with the photosensitizer (especially, a photo acid generator), or may be a hydrophobic protective group. The hydrophilic group may be a hydroxyl group or a carboxyl group. The photoactive compound has high sensitivity to a light source of short wavelength beams, for resist application, therefore, the photoactive compound is advantageously used for forming a pattern with high resolution.

The hydrophilic polymer layer has excellent adhesiveness to the main body of the molded polymer article and excellent durability, so that the high hydrophilic property can be maintained, even when the article is exposed to external forces such as friction, over a long period of time.
