  • Patent number: 9487818
Abstract: The present invention provides a TOP2A inhibition by temozolomide useful for predicting glioblastoma patient's survival. Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most common, malignant primary adult brain tumor. The conventional treatments for GBM, include surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy which have only modestly improved patient survival. The patients with GBM expressing higher TOP2A transcript levels had better prognosis. More interestingly, the present invention reports that temozolomide is an inhibitor of TOP2A activity in vitro. The present invention further shows that siRNA knock down of TOP2A rendered a glioma cell line resistant to temozolomide chemotherapy. Thus it is demonstrated for the first time that temozolomide is a TOP2A inhibitor and establishes that TOP2A transcript levels determines the chemosensitivity of glioblastoma to temozolomide therapy thus explaining the very high levels of TOP2A transcript being a good prognostic indicator in GBM patients receiving temozolomide chemotherapy.

  • Patent number: 9466066
Abstract: Content is obtained from a webpage accessed via a URI, which URI is obtained from a URI queue. The content is parsed for price and product information according to a parse map, with the resulting parse result being stored. The priority of URIs in the URI queue is adjusted based on analysis of the parse result for changes in price and product attributes and according to other criteria. The parse map may be one associated with the URI or a general purpose parse maps. The parse result may be validated by human- and machine-based systems, including by graphically labeling price and product information in the content for human confirmation or correction.

  • Publication number: 20160268472
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to a method of separating a wafer of light emitting devices. The light emitting devices are disposed in rows. The method includes dividing the wafer into a plurality of regions. Each region comprises a plurality of rows of light emitting devices and a first region is wider than a second region. For each region, the method includes determining a position of first and second dicing streets. The dicing streets are located between the rows of light emitting devices. The method includes determining, using the position of the first and second dicing streets, positions of a plurality of dicing streets disposed between the first and second dicing streets. The method includes cutting the wafer along streets.

  • Publication number: 20150282091
Abstract: Various embodiments in the disclosure provide methods implemented by a processor executing on a mobile communication device to dynamically determining whether the power saved by powering down the RF chain between the end of the last reception activities and the beginning of the next reception activities will exceed the power expended to reinitialize the RF chain's components and registers for the next reception activities. Based on this determination, the device processor may configure the RF chain either to power down fully, as in conventional implementations, or to enter a low-power mode in which power is maintained to the power rails supplying the memory registers storing RF communication data, thereby avoiding the power surge of restarting the registers and part of the power drain associated with writing the communication data back into the registers. In some embodiments, the mobile communication device may be a multi-SIM device.

  • Patent number: 8380494
Abstract: The method and system disclosed herein reduces total bandwidth requirement for communication in a voice over Internet protocol application. Sample [101] and convert [102] the analog input audio signal into digital signals and derive sampled frames [103]. Compute spacings of order statistics [104]. Measure the entropy for each of the sampled frames [105]. Set a threshold for entropy [106]. Mark the audio frames as active speech frames or inactive speech frames [107]. Mark an audio frame as an' inactive speech frame when the entropy is greater than the threshold, and mark the audio frame as an active speech frame when the entropy is lesser than the threshold [107]. Transmit only the active speech frames [108].

  • Patent number: 8151155
Abstract: A re-transmit processor for a wireless communication system includes a pointer memory which contains pointers associated with particular packet data in a host memory. The re-transmit processor directs data associated with the pointers to be applied to a media access controller, which optionally contains an encryption function, the output of which is coupled to a block buffer and to an output interface. Upon receipt of a transmission request, the host memory locations associated with the pointers are read and the data directed to the media access controller, which adds a header, a CRC, and optionally encrypts the data, thereafter placing it in the block buffer and the output interface. Upon provision of the packet data to the MAC, the associated pointer is initialized to a FREE or UNUSED value, and upon receipt of an acknowledgement of the packet accompanied by a packet identifier from a receiving station, the packet associated with the packet identifier is removed from the block buffer.

  • Publication number: 20110231393
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a computer implemented method and system for determining presence of a first user by a second user in an online environment. The first user provides the first user's profile information and characteristic information. The first user marks keywords in the characteristic information. The first user marks the keywords based on inference of second user's knowledge about the first user. The marked keywords are categorized into predefined categories. The second user provides search words. The search words are compared with the characteristic information and the keywords to find matches. The matches are weighted. Search indexes are generated for the weighted matches based on a predetermined criterion. The weighted matches with the generated search indexes are provided to the second user. The selected profile information corresponding to the predefined categories comprising the categorized keywords for which the weighted matches have high search indexes, is displayed to the second user.
