  • Patent number: 11687072
Abstract: An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) navigation system includes a portable, ground-based landing pad comprising having a first antenna configured to transmit a data packet; a UAV comprising a second antenna configured to receive the data packet; and second processing circuitry configured to determine a signal strength between the first antenna and the second antenna; determine, based on the signal strength, an orientation of the vehicle relative to the landing pad; and determine, based on a time of flight of the data packet, a distance between the vehicle and the landing pad.

  • Patent number: 10198270
Abstract: At initiation of boot of a computing device, a processor executes a firmware interface of the computing device, like a basic input/output system (BIOS) or a unified extended firmware interface (UEFI). The processor executes the firmware interface to detect whether a dynamic hardware configuration (DHC) function has been enabled. In response to detecting that the DHC function has been enabled, the processor executes the firmware interface to configure hardware components of the computing device according to a DHC, such as to selectively disable the hardware components. After configuring the hardware components according to the DHC, the processor proceeds to boot the computing device.

  • Publication number: 20060041776
Abstract: A system includes a platform on which a plurality of platform-specific I/O and fault-tolerance mechanisms are implemented. The system also includes an embedded software application operating on the platform and middleware which acts as a buffer between the application and the platform. In operation, the middleware logically separates the embedded software application from the platform-specific I/O and fault-tolerance mechanisms, such that the application can be transferred from one platform to another without necessitating complex and time-consuming code changes.
