Patent number: 11869189Abstract: Systems and methods are configured to extract images from provided source data files and to preprocess such images for content-based image analysis. An image analysis system applies one or more machine-learning based models for identifying specific features within analyzed images, and for determining one or more measurements based at least in part on the identified features. Such measurements may be embodied as absolute measurements for determining an absolute distance between features, or relative measurements for determining a relative relationship between features. The determined measurements are input into one or more machine-learning based models for determining a classification for the image.Type: GrantFiled: March 4, 2021Date of Patent: January 9, 2024Assignee: UnitedHealth Group IncorporatedInventors: Russell H. Patent number: 11159963Abstract: The present description provides methods, computer program products, and systems for alternative network communication for access point troubleshooting and monitoring. When a station has difficulty initiating or maintaining a connection with an access point, or even when performance is suboptimal, alternative network communication is initiated. The issue can be handled by reporting to a troubled access point for self-correction, or by uploading interrogation commands or code for active correction externally by a station. Further actions can be taken, for example, when a station determines through alternative communication that a troubled access point itself has connection issues to a back end network, the station uses a different access point for reporting up to a network admin. Although Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are described herein, other combinations of wireless protocols are implementable.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 2015Date of Patent: October 26, 2021Assignee: Fortinet, Inc.Inventors: Ajay Malik, Saurabh Bhargava, Avinash Bhagtani, Radhakrishnan Suryanarayanan

Patent number: 10579840Abstract: RF tags using source addresses to locate stations on a Wi-Fi network are secured. An RF location server receives a pseudo source address of an RF (radio frequency) tag from a station. The station obtains the pseudo source address while being within radio range of the RF tag and the station receiving a beacon frame from the RF tag. A source address for the RF tag is looked-up utilizing the pseudo source address, and a specific location for the RF tag is looked-up utilizing the source address. Some embodiments store the locations in association with the pseudo address. Either way, the specific location of the station is identified based on the source address of the RF tag. An action is determined in response to at least the specific location of the station. Information related to the action is sent to the station for output to a user of the station. For example, a location-based offer or service can be provided in real-time with a consumer's presence to relevant products or services.Type: GrantFiled: August 20, 2018Date of Patent: March 3, 2020Assignee: Fortinet, Inc.Inventors: Saurabh Bhargava, Anil Kaushik, Ajay Malik

Patent number: 10362600Abstract: A technique for emulating virtual port control of airtime fairness for wireless stations using per station Enhanced Distributed Channel Access (EDCA) parameters. Specific parameters are received for each of a plurality of stations connected to the access point. An EDCA field of a beacon that stores a general EDCA parameter is set to an empty state. The beacon is broadcast to a plurality stations on the wireless communication network and within range of an access point. The beacon comprises a BSSID (Basic Service Set Identifier) for use by the plurality of stations to connect with the access point for access to the wireless communication network. The beacon also comprises an empty EDCA field. In response to broadcasting the empty EDCA parameter, receiving a direct inquiry from each of the plurality of stations for the general EDCA parameter. Each of the plurality of stations is responded to with a direct communication of a specific parameter corresponding to each station.Type: GrantFiled: February 16, 2017Date of Patent: July 23, 2019Assignee: Fortinet, Inc.Inventors: Anil Kaushik, Saurabh Bhargava, Siva Rama Krishna Rao Yogendra Jupudi, Sachin P. Patent number: 10244470Abstract: The present description provides methods, computer program products, and systems for saving power in Wi-Fi devices utilizing Bluetooth. A Wi-Fi radio transitions to deep sleep mode from active mode while a Bluetooth radio remains active. An active Wi-Fi connection to the access point can be maintained by the station while in deep sleep mode as needed to prevent being disassociated. Responsive to the indication of data packets waiting at the access point, sent over the Bluetooth radio, the Wi-Fi radio at the station can be transitioned from the deep sleep mode to the active mode. A notification of active mode is sent to the access point currently associated with the Wi-Fi radio so that packets can be forwarded.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 2017Date of Patent: March 26, 2019Assignee: Fortinet, Inc.Inventors: Suryanarayanan Radhakrishnan, Saurabh Bhargava, Sanjay Gandotra

Patent number: 9992127Abstract: Aggregation windows are dynamically resized based on network congestion feedback from VOIP and other mixed types of traffic. Feedback indicative of a level of network congestion on the data communication network where aggregate packets are transmitted is received. The network congestion level is checked to see if a predetermined threshold has been exceeded. Responsive to exceeding the threshold, the network congestion level is correlated to an optimal data field size for the aggregated data packets. Further, a MAC layer is configured for the optimal data field size for frame generation. Subsequent aggregated data packets are then transmitted using the optimal data field size.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 2015Date of Patent: June 5, 2018Assignee: Fortinet, INCInventors: Manish Shukla, Saurabh Bhargava
