  • Patent number: 10389469
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices for adding an alien or native wavelength optical signal to a fiber optic line. A portion of a spectrum of the fiber optic line corresponding to the optical signal is blocked with a wavelength selective switch (WSS). The portion of the spectrum is gradually unblocked until a power of the optical signal measured after the WSS is equal to a predetermined level. If the power and characteristics of the optical signal after the WSS satisfy one or more criteria, the portion of the spectrum is further unblocked until the power of the optical signal measured at the output is equal to an operational level.

  • Patent number: 10382567
Abstract: A method of many-to-one auto-discovery between modules includes: a source (sender) module sends the same source-ID on all its connected ports (many). The module may not know on which port the ID is sent. A sink (receiver) module is capable of receiving IDs on its port (one). The sink port identifies the association-ID (AID) of one end of the association (between sender and receiver). The association may be established based on each module discovering the sink AID of the sender in both directions (bi-directional). Both directions may be required for the source signal to get received on a respective sink. The source signal may be sent asynchronously in each direction.

  • Patent number: 10341453
Abstract: Facilitating content caching in a local network by using software-defined network (SDN) controller to centrally coordinate data plane behavior. One or more packets forwarded from a component of the plurality of network components is received because no flow has been installed at the component to instruct on how to handle the one or more packets. Responsive to a deep packet inspection identifying a request for external content, a caching server is queried on the local network to determine if the requested content is available locally. A response is received from the caching server that the requested content is not available, and in response, a first flow is installed within the local network to route copies of response packets associated with the requested content to the station. A second flow is installed within the local network to route copies of response packets associated with the requested content to the caching server. A third flow routes subsequent requests for the same content.

  • Patent number: 10255587
Abstract: An electronic messaging client caches copies of a subset of electronic messages available in a remote store in a local store of a user device. When the user device is in an online state, the client provides for the blended presentation of electronic messages such that a user can concurrently view information about the electronic messages that have been cached in the local store as well as information about electronic messages that are stored only in the remote store. The client also presents a blended state associated with a container of electronic messages to a user of a user device and enables a user to execute a search of cached electronic messages stored in a local store as well as of electronic messages stored in the remote store.

  • Publication number: 20180374544
Abstract: An oscillator circuit includes a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) configured to generate a clock signal having a clock period that is adjustable based on a control signal. The oscillator circuit includes a time to voltage converter configured to receive the clock signal and generate a compensation voltage potential that is proportional to the clock period and a zero temperature coefficient (ZTC) current. The oscillator circuit includes an amplifier configured to generate the control signal responsive to the compensation voltage potential and a temperature independent reference voltage potential. A method includes applying a control signal to a VCO, generating a clock signal having a clock period responsive to the control signal, generating a compensation voltage potential, and adjusting the clock period using the compensation voltage potential. A memory device includes the oscillator circuit.

  • Patent number: 10140992
Abstract: Systems, computer-implemented methods, and tangible computer-readable media are provided for voice authentication. The method includes receiving, on a mobile device, a speech sample from a user as part of a request for a restricted-access resource separate from the mobile device. When the user has previously established an identity with the mobile device, the method includes transmitting the speech sample along with the request to an authentication server which compares the speech sample to a previously established speech profile associated with the user and providing access to the restricted-access resource based on a response to the request from the authentication server if the speech sample from the user matches the speech profile on the authentication server with a minimum certainty threshold.

  • Patent number: 10069861
Abstract: A current physical location value associated is incorporated with a communication device as part of internet protocol (IP). An IP management component obtains current physical location information of a wireless communication device and modifies the IP address to incorporate the current physical location value corresponding to the current physical location of the communication device as part of the IP address of the communication device to prevent undesired intrusions by hackers, as communications associated with the communication device are routed to/from the communication device that is at the current physical location. If the communication device moves to a new location, the IP management component can perform a new IP address modification to modify the IP address to incorporate a new physical location value associated with the communication device.

  • Patent number: 10037810
Abstract: The peak voltage at which a voltage-setting transistor is driven is reduced while the body effect of the transistor is also compensated. The voltage-setting transistor is driven at an initial level and then coupled higher by a capacitor which is connected to the control gate of the voltage-setting transistor. The amount of coupling can vary as a function of an assigned data state of a memory cell connected to the transistor by a source line and/or bit line. The capacitor may have a body which is common to a set of memory cells. The voltage can be set prior to applying a program voltage to the control gate of a memory cell to control a programming speed of the memory cell based on its assigned data state. The voltage can also be set in connection with a sensing operation.

  • Patent number: 10033541
Abstract: Wi-Fi services multicast to a subnet in a software-defined network (SDN) are extended. An SDN controller centrally monitors a data plane of a Wi-Fi network. Advertisements for services within a first subnet by an advertising station are forwarded to the SDN controller. Parameters of the service of the advertising station are extracted for storage by performing deep packet inspection on the one or more packets. Queries for services within a second subnet by a querying station are also forwarded to the SDN controller. Parameters of the service of the querying station are extracted for storage by performing deep packet inspection on the one or more packets. The query for service to the advertisement matches responsive to the advertisement parameters compared to the query parameters. Responsive to matching, a set of connection parameters necessary for the querying station at the second subnet to connect to the advertising station at the first subnet is sent.

  • Patent number: 10024729
Abstract: A temperature sensor is disclosed. In one aspect, the temperature sensor provides a digital output having a precise degree/code step. For example, each step in the digital output code may correspond to one degree Celsius. In one aspect, a temperature sensor comprises a precision band-gap circuit and a sigma delta modulator (SDM) analog-to-digital convertor (ADC). A bandgap voltage and a PTAT voltage may be provided from the band-gap circuit as an input to the SDM ADC. The SDM ADC may produce an output based on the difference between the PTAT voltage and the bandgap voltage. The temperature sensor may also have logic that outputs a temperature code based on the output of the SDM ADC.

  • Patent number: 9858039
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for human interface design. Embodiments proceed upon receiving a markup language description of user interface pages (e.g., HTML pages), then, without modifying the user interface page, parsing the markup language description to identify user interface objects configured to perform an operation responsive to a keyboard or mouse or pointing device. One or more mapping techniques serve to relate the parsed-out operation(s) to one or more voice commands. In some embodiments, the parser recognizes interface objects in forms such as a button, a textbox, a checkbox, or an option menu, and the voice commands correspond to an aspect that is displayed when rendering the interface object (e.g., a button label, a menu option, etc.). After receiving a user utterance, the utterance is converted into a text representation which in turn is mapped to voice commands that were parsed from the user interface page.

  • Publication number: 20170370991
Abstract: A test circuit measures both the rising edge delay and the falling edge delay associated with a logic cell. The test circuit includes a flip-flop type ring oscillator with two groups of logic cells connected in series in the oscillation path. A first multiplexor switches the ring oscillator between a rising edge and a falling edge mode. A second multiplexer causes the second group of logic cells to be included or excluded from the oscillation path. By measuring the oscillation period in the various modes, the rising edge and falling edge delays can be individually calculated.
