Publication number: 20230316201Abstract: Contextual data is received and processed that characterizes a current state of resources of a competitor entity, included any targeted effects on the entity. The contextual data and desired adversarial effects are used to generate and/or update an effect-web plan and a dilemma topology graph. This comprises a plurality of desired effects, actions and task plans and a plurality of dilemmas to impose when prespecified conditions are met. Available team-systems to execute the effect-web plan and dilemma topology are then determined which result in deployment of effect-web plan by a selected team-system and at least one dilemma based on the dilemma topology graph. Data characterizing the multi-order impact of the deployment of the effect-web plan on the entity and the imposition of the at least one dilemma are monitored to quantify the increased uncertainty in perceived decision-making of the entity so that iterative modifications can be subsequently guided and implemented.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 14, 2022Publication date: October 5, 2023Inventors: Saurabh Mittal, Rob Wittman, JR., David L. Publication number: 20230316200Abstract: Contextual data is received and processed that characterizes a current state of people, processes, and technology resources of an entity. In addition, data comprising desired adversarial effects against the entity and received and processed. A computer-implemented effect and uncertainty strategy application programming interface (API) generates an effect-web plan the based on the contextual data and desired effects requirements. The effect-web plan includes a plurality of effects, actions and task plans to implement the desired adversarial effects. Thereafter, available human-machine team-systems to execute the effect-web plan are determined. The generated effect-web plan can be deployed by multiple selected team-systems. Data characterizing a multi-order impact of the deployment of the effect-web plan on the entity can be monitored. The generated effect-web plan can be modified and deployed based on the monitoring so as to increase a likelihood of an occurrence and success of the desired adversarial effects.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 5, 2022Publication date: October 5, 2023Inventors: Saurabh Mittal, Rob Wittman, Jr., David L. Publication number: 20230306353Abstract: A worker resource management system may include a voice-directed mobile terminal that enables a dialog between a user and the voice-directed mobile terminal. At least one computer may be in communication with the mobile terminal. The computer can include a worker resource management module that receives and records user activity from the voice-directed mobile terminal. The worker resource management module can identify user productivity patterns and provide work assessment predictions based at least in part upon the user activity that is received and recorded. Management can make worker resource decisions in response to the user productivity patterns identified or the work assessment predictions provided by the worker resource management module.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 1, 2023Publication date: September 28, 2023Inventors: Mohit Raj, Saurabh Mittal, Kaushik Hazra, Krishna Udupi, Neeraj Singh, Amal Vaish, Amit Kumar

Publication number: 20230115976Abstract: Described are systems and methods for evaluating cyber effects in a cyber physical system (CPS). In some embodiments, a simulation model of the CPS is built and includes a plurality of component sets. The plurality of component sets includes at least one component in the simulation model. A control component is inserted into the simulation model. One or more connections between the plurality of component sets is routed through the control component. A cyber-attack on a component set selected from the plurality of component sets can be simulated by configuring the control component to control an output transmitted via a routed connection between the plurality of component sets. The model components may be iteratively replaced by CPS components, including software or physical components, to improve the cyber-attack and evaluation fidelity.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 5, 2022Publication date: April 13, 2023Applicant: The MITRE CorporationInventors: Suresh K. DAMODARAN, Saurabh MITTAL

Patent number: 11522903Abstract: Described are systems and methods for evaluating cyber effects in a cyber-physical system (CPS). In some embodiments, a simulation model of the CPS is built and includes an attacked component set and an evaluated component set. A control component is inserted into the simulation model. One or more direct connections between the attacked component set and the evaluated component set are disconnected. One or more indirect connections are identified and then disconnected from the simulation model with disconnected direct connections. The one or more direct connections and indirect connections are routed through the control component. A cyber-attack on the attacked component set can be simulated by configuring the control component to control outputs transmitted via a routed connection, the routed connection being one of the routed direct or indirect connections. The simulated components of the simulation model can be progressively and iteratively replaced by corresponding components from the CPS.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 2020Date of Patent: December 6, 2022Assignee: The MITRE CorporationInventors: Suresh K. Patent number: 10853227Abstract: A test platform provides modular test automation. The modular test automation may include defining modular segments of a test configuration, and testing an Application Under Test (“AUT”) based on the modular segments. The test configuration may define a specific flow or execution ordering for the modular segments. The flow may be changed by reordering the segments, modularly adding new segments anywhere in the flow, removing segments, modifying individual segments without affecting other segments, defining a particular segment once and reusing the particular segment in two or more different test configurations, and/or carrying over a change made to the particular segment in a first test configuration to the particular segment of a second test configuration automatically. The modular test automation may also include modularly selecting a set of nodes for testing the AUT according to the modular segments of the flow.Type: GrantFiled: July 23, 2018Date of Patent: December 1, 2020Assignee: Verizon Patent and Licensing Inc.Inventors: Murali Dhanaraj, Saurabh Mittal, Calvin Eric, Gaurav Rishi, Ali Asghar Nasser
