  • Publication number: 20230403535
Abstract: A wireless sensor device includes a flexible substrate, a cover layer on the flexible substrate, a device layer between the flexible substrate and the cover layer, and a printed circuit board connecting components of the device layer including an electrostatic discharge protected port for connecting an external sensor probe to the wireless sensor device. The device layer includes a processor, a memory, a battery, a first wireless communication system, and one or more onboard sensors; and a printed circuit board connecting components of the device layer comprising an electrostatic discharge protected port for connecting an external sensor probe to the wireless sensor device. The external probe allows for the wireless sensor device to perform sensor readings in environments that are too extreme or hostile to the wireless sensor device, while the wireless sensor device is safely isolated from the extreme or hostile environment.

  • Publication number: 20230252399
Abstract: A RFID system includes an RFID controller and an RFID reader communicatively coupled to at least one RFID antenna positioned within a cargo area of a vehicle. The RFID controller includes a status indicator for generating a visual indication, a processor, and memory storing a manifest defining RFID identifiers corresponding to assets for transport by the vehicle. The memory further stores firmware having machine-readable instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to: control the RFID reader to receive an RFID signal from an RFID tag using one of the at least one RFID antenna, decode an RFID identifier from the RFID signal identifying an RFID tag attached to an asset located within the cargo area, and generate, using the status indicator, a visual indication indicative of the asset being loaded in error when the RFID identifier is not listed in the manifest.

  • Publication number: 20230025103
Abstract: A multi-communication-interface system methods implement fine locationing while conserving battery power. A first wireless-communication interface of a first multi-communication-interface tape node located at a first location in an area detect a first wireless signal from a second tape node at a first time. A first receiver of a second wireless-communication interface of the first multi-communication-interface tape node is activated in response to detecting the first wireless signal and used to receive a first response signal from a first wireless tag in response to an interrogation signal. The first receiver is deactivated to conserve power within an internal battery of the at least one second multi-communication-interface tape node and a location of the first wireless tag at the first time is determined as the first location.

  • Publication number: 20230028603
Abstract: An improved radio frequency identification (RFID) reader system includes a plurality of wireless integrated RFID readers located in different locations in an environment, one or more RFID tags, each RFID tag configured to generate a radio frequency (RF) response signal based on data stored on the RFID tag, and a wireless communication gateway. Each of the wireless integrated RFID readers includes an RFID antenna, an electronics module coupled to the RFID antenna configured to operate the RFID antenna and interpret data signals received at the RFID antenna from one or more RFID tags, and a wireless communication system of a first type configured to wirelessly communicate with wireless nodes of the RFID reader system. The wireless communication gateway includes a wireless communication system of the first type configured to wirelessly communicate with the plurality of wireless integrated RFID readers.
