  • Patent number: 10718181
Abstract: A downhole control method for use in a wellbore that includes deploying a first stand-alone hydraulic reservoir downhole; measuring a first downhole fluid parameter; and actuating a first inflow control device, based on the first measured downhole fluid parameter, using the first stand-alone hydraulic reservoir. In one aspect, the first stand-alone hydraulic reservoir and the first inflow control device comprise an open-hole completion system.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 30, 2015
Date of Patent: July 21, 2020
    Assignee: Halliburton Energy Services, Inc.
Inventors: Savio Saldanha, Matthew Scogin, Timothy R. Tips, Colin McKay, Michael Konopczynski, James Flygare, Robert Smith
  • Patent number: 10487629
Abstract: A downhole control method for use in a wellbore that includes deploying a stand-alone power source and a stand-alone hydraulic reservoir downhole; powering a downhole controller using the stand-alone power source; measuring a downhole fluid parameter; and actuating an inflow control device, using the stand-alone hydraulic reservoir and the downhole controller, based on the measured downhole fluid parameter. In one aspect, the stand-alone power source is selected from the group consisting of a battery and a downhole power generator. In another aspect, the stand-alone hydraulic reservoir, the downhole controller, the stand-alone power source, and the inflow control device comprise a remotely-powered, open-hole completion system.

  • Patent number: 10408039
Abstract: A portion is sectioned from an outer jacket of a cable. The sectioned portion exposes an insulator layer within the outer jacket. The cable includes a conduit within the insulator layer. The insulator layer in the sectioned portion is pierced with a terminal to contact the conduit. A transducer is connected to the terminal. The housing is sealed to the cable around the transducer and the terminal.

  • Publication number: 20170167231
Abstract: A crossover service tool includes a tool body and crossover components integrated with the tool body to control a direction of fluid circulation into and out of the tool body. The crossover service tool also includes an electrically-powered actuator and a latch coupled to the electrically-powered actuator. The crossover service tool also includes a power/communications coupler to convert electrical signals to another type of signals and vice versa. A related system includes a crossover service tool in a downhole environment, the crossover service tool having an electrically-powered actuator and a latch coupled to the electrically-powered actuator. The system also includes a sand control assembly and an electrical power source to provide electrical power to the electrically-powered actuator. The electrically-powered actuator operates to move the latch relative to the sand control assembly.
