  • Patent number: 11592885
Abstract: A device includes a load test unit that determines whether to permit startup of the device using power of a battery supplying power to the device, and a control unit that starts up the device in a case where it is determined to permit startup of the device using the battery and a first voltage is requested of a power supply apparatus to restrict power received from the power supply apparatus. The control unit cancels the restriction of the received power in a case where a notification of completion of connection is received from the power supply apparatus, after the device is started up and a second voltage is requested of the power supply apparatus.

  • Patent number: 11569672
Abstract: An electronic device includes a connection unit and a control unit. The control unit enables a power supply path for supplying power from a first battery connected to an external device to the electronic device and enables a power supply path for supplying power from a second battery connected to the external device to a predetermined functional unit of the external device, in a case where the first battery or the second battery connected to the external device is not charged. The control unit disables a power supply path for supplying power from the second battery connected to the external device to the predetermined functional unit and enables a power supply path for supplying power from the electronic device to the first battery or the second battery, in a case where the first battery or the second battery connected to the external device is charged.

  • Patent number: 10291860
Abstract: An image pickup system capable of, during flash photography through automatic radiating direction control, quickly starting a next shooting operation when the automatic radiating direction control is suspended. A flash built in or removably mounted on a digital camera has a light-emitting unit that emits light and a drive control unit that changes a radiating direction of light from the light-emitting unit. A preparatory operation for shooting and a shooting operation by the digital camera are disabled while the radiating direction of the light from the light-emitting unit is being changed by the drive control unit. When an instruction to suspend changing the radiating direction of the light is issued, a preparatory operation for shooting and a shooting operation by the digital camera, which have been disabled, are enabled, and the drive control unit is controlled to return the light-emitting unit to an initial position prior to the change.

  • Patent number: 8573864
Abstract: An image pickup apparatus includes a first timer configured to start measuring a first time period when a mirror located at a mirror-up position is moved to a mirror-down position, a second timer configured to start measuring a second time period when the mirror reaches the mirror-down position, and a controller configured to enable processing when the first timer finishes measuring the first period and the second timer finishes measuring the second period. The first period is a time period enough to attenuate mirror's bounds after the mirror located at the mirror-up position starts moving to the mirror-down position, when a high power-supply voltage is set to the image pickup apparatus, and the second period is a time period enough to attenuate mirror's bounds after the mirror reaches the mirror-down position, when a low power-supply voltage is set to the image pickup apparatus.
