  • Publication number: 20150284542
Abstract: A composition contains a polymer component comprising a crosslinked product of a polyarylene, a crosslinked product of a substituted polyphenylene, a crosslinked product of a polyphenylene sulfide and a polyphenylsulfone, or a combination comprising at least one of the foregoing; and a mesoporous silicate having an average pore size of about 5 nanometers to about 50 nanometers. The composition has high-temperature elastomeric properties and excellent mechanical strength. The compositions are useful in oil and gas downhole applications. Methods for the manufacture of the composition and articles comprising the composition are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20150064032
Abstract: An electric submersible well pump assembly includes a pump and an electrical motor filled with a dielectric lubricant. A capsule extends around a portion of the motor, defining a chamber between the capsule and the motor. A port through a side wall of the motor communicates the lubricant within the motor to the chamber. Thermoelectric devices are located within the chamber. Voltage supplied to the thermoelectric devices cools the lubricant.

  • Publication number: 20140345661
Abstract: A thermoelectric composite includes a plurality of particles comprising a crosslinked polymer having a heat deflection temperature greater than or equal to 200° F. and a segregated network comprising a first filler material which is disposed between the particles to produce a thermoelectric response in response to application of a voltage difference or temperature difference across the thermoelectric composite. The first filler material includes a carbon material, a metal, a metal disposed on a carbon material, or a combination thereof. A process for preparing a thermoelectric article includes combining a first filler material and a plurality of particles comprising a polymer to form a composition and molding the composition to form a thermoelectric article, wherein the thermoelectric article is configured to produce a thermoelectric response in response to application of a voltage difference or temperature difference across the article.

  • Publication number: 20140158255
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a solder composition comprising a metal or a metal alloy; and an electrically conductive high temperature polymeric composition; where the electrically conductive high temperature polymeric composition is dispersed homogeneously in the metal; and where the electrically conductive high temperature polymeric composition has a higher glass transition temperature or a melting point than the flow temperature of the metal or metal alloy. Disclosed herein too is a method comprising mixing an electrically conductive high temperature polymeric composition with a metal or a metal alloy to form the solder composition; where the electrically conductive high temperature polymeric composition is dispersed homogeneously in the metal; and where the electrically conductive high temperature polymeric composition has a higher glass transition temperature or a melting point than the flow temperature of the metal or metal alloy.
