Abstract: A communication system and method facilitating a user to directly dial an account network-based telephone user with a combined alphabet and numeral account via a conventional telephone and computer is disclosed. The computer is provided with a set of predetermined alphabet and numeral code correspondence table. In addition, all the extended units coupled to the telephone constitute an exchange communication system, let the telephone in the different indoor place can directly call the network-based telephone.

Abstract: A communication system with a common channel for selectively coupling a subscriber line port of a telephone system to one of a plurality of voice communication devices including a fixed network communication module, an internet-based phone module, and a wireless internet-based phone module is provided. When a phone unit of the telephone system dials a called end phone number, the telephone system is connected to the common channel, a ring current generated by the ring current generator is then supplied to the phone unit, the called end phone number is decoded by the tone decoder, and thereby the microprocessor in correspondence to the called end phone number couple the telephone system to one of the fixed network communication module, the internet-based phone module, or the wireless internet-based phone module to establish a voice communication therebetween according to a preset data table stored in the memory.

Abstract: Disclosed is a communication system for selectively establishing a communication among various types of communication devices, including a communication line, at least one phone set connected to a Public Switched Telephone Network, a plurality of coupling devices of various types connected to the communication line, and a plurality of network-based communication devices of various types connected to the communication line and the Internet, wherein the network-based communication devices are IAD, VoIP and PC phone modules, the coupling devices are IAD integrating devices and VoIP gateways and the coupling devices includes an ADSL transmission device. The communication signals are coupled from the phone set to the network-based communication devices through the coupling devices to selectively establish a communication among the phone set and the network-based communication devices of various types.

Abstract: A communication system including a communication switch device for communicating a two-wired telephone device connected to a local computer with a local VoIP module and a remote computer with a remote VoIP module through an Internet network is disclosed. The communication switch device includes a two-wired speaker connection port connecting to the speaker output port of the computer through a first pairs of wires, a two-wired microphone connection port connecting to the microphone input port of the computer through a second pairs of wires.

Abstract: A united home security system for joining a plurality of client-sides is disclosed. The system includes a sensing circuit, a subscriber emergency handling/communication circuit, a client-side monitor/control server, a remote administrating and monitoring device, and an alarm transmitting network. Each client-side communicates with the remote administrating and monitoring device via a public telecom-network, for transmitting the state information at the client-side. In case an emergency signal is detected at any client-side, the client-side monitor/control server communicates with the remote administrating and monitoring device via the telecom-network, and then an alarm signal is generated by the alarm transmitting network.

Abstract: A subscriber control circuit adapted to be incorporated in an united home security system is disclosed. The control circuit includes a plurality of client-side monitor/control servers, each serving to detect and control the situation at the subscriber and connected to a remote administrating and monitoring device via a public telephone network. The remote administrating and monitoring device is capable of transmitting alarm signal to an alarm transmitting network. The client-side monitor/control server also includes a central processing unit, a radio frequency receiver for receiving a detection signal from wireless sensing elements and an encoder for receiving and processing a detection signal from cabled sensing element. A DTMF based receiver connects the central processing unit to the remote administrating and monitoring device to receive a DTMF signal transmitted through the telephone line and transmit the received DTMF signal to the central processing unit.

Abstract: A control method for united home security system includes steps of defining a set of signal codes which are transmitted between a client-side monitor/control server and a remote administrant through a public telecom-network by using multiple frequency signals. When the server sends signals to the remote administrant, a data string which is assembled by following a predefined format is received and checked by the remote administrant. An event handling process will be performed if the data string is correct. The remote administrant performs a predetermined handling process which is corresponding to the incident code sent by the server. The remote administrant start performing a rescue process when receiving an emergency/rescue handling signal from the server.
