The overflow protection includes, in a first portion, a hydrophobic layer on the carrier plate and, in a second portion which adjoins the first portion, a frame element.

Abstract: A supporting structure for concurrently supporting a plurality of containers for substances for medical, pharmaceutical or cosmetic applications is disclosed, wherein the containers are open at least at one end and wherein the supporting structure comprises a plurality of openings or receptacles and a plurality of supporting means for supporting said containers in said openings or receptacles. According to the invention the supporting structure is formed by or comprises a plurality of subunits, wherein each of the subunits can be handled or processed separately together with the containers supported thereon. The subunits make the transfer to processing stations of the process easier, but also serve for reliably positioning the containers during the process at positions, which are precisely determined by the positions of the supporting means.

The supporting structure includes a planar supporting base having a plurality of openings, which are disposed in a regular array configuration, and an associated holding device that supports the plurality of containers in a positive-fit manner at the supporting base. The holding device protrudes from a bottom side of the supporting base and is configured to support the plurality of containers in the positive-lit manner at their upper rim. Additionally, receptacles are provided on an upper side of the supporting base opposite to the bottom side for accommodating containers at the upper side of the supporting base.

Abstract: A supporting structure for concurrently holding a plurality of cylindrical containers for substances for medical, pharmaceutical or cosmetic applications is provided. The supporting structure includes a supporting base having a plurality of receptacles, which are configured such that the containers can be inserted into the associated receptacles, wherein the receptacles extend in the longitudinal direction of the containers and are configured to hold side wall portions of the containers at least partially clamped. The receptacles are continuous side walls, wherein the opening widths of the receptacles can be adjusted by a coordinated adjustment of the side walls of the receptacles between a first position, in which the containers can be inserted into the receptacles, and a second position in which the containers are clamped. The bottoms or upper ends of the containers are exactly fixed at a given height despite tolerances.

The process includes automatically conveying the containers past a processing station for the treatment or processing by or through a conveying device and then inserting the containers into a transport or packaging container having a bottom, a circumferential side wall and an insertion opening opposite to the bottom. In some embodiments, a plurality of containers are placed on a flat supporting base so that the bottoms of the containers directly rest on the flat supporting base; the containers, while resting on the flat supporting base, are conveyed to a processing station by the conveying device to be treated or processed; and after the treatment or processing of the containers, the transport or packaging container is placed on the flat supporting base so that all the containers of the plurality of containers are accommodated in the transport or packaging container.

Abstract: A container for pharmaceutical and medical applications made from glass, preferably from a borosilicate glass. The container is formed in the shape of a hollow body open at both its ends with a cylindrical portion having a wall thickness tolerance of maximally ±0.2 mm. The borosilicate glass has a nominal boron content that drops by less than 40% relative to the nominal value at all of the surfaces of the container.
