    Abstract: A method for tensioning a membrane includes affixing a first wire to a first portion of the membrane and affixing a second wire to a second portion of the membrane. The membrane is tensioned between the first wire and the second wire by applying a first current in a first direction through the first wire and applying a second current in a second direction through the second wire, so that repulsive magnetic fields are generated between the first wire and the second wire.
