  • Publication number: 20160301669
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system and method of encrypting and decrypting Optical Transport Network (OTN) payload content. A transmitter of the system includes a series of ordered encryption keys and a counter for generating an initialization vector to be combined with one of the encryption keys for encrypting the OTN payload content. A receiver of the system includes a series of ordered decryption keys and a counter for generating an initialization vector to be combined with one of the decryption keys for decrypting the encrypted OTN payload content. The system synchronizes switching, at the transmitter and the receiver, the encryption and decryption keys to the next keys in each series. The system also synchronizes the counters for generating the same initialization vector at the transmitter and the receiver.

  • Patent number: 9464465
Abstract: A handle assemble is provided that includes a pivotable handle on a first side of a housing that when moved to an extended position is operative to cause a lever arm to move on a second side of the housing in order to operate a latch mechanism. To move the lever arm, the assembly includes a lock slide that in a first pivot position is operative to slide longitudinal and urge the lever arm to pivot responsive to either the handle causing a trigger to urge a first end of the lock slide to slide or an inside release member urging a second end of the lock slide to slide. However, when the lock slide is in a second pivot position, the trigger and the inside release member are not operative to engage the respective first and second ends of the lock slide.

  • Publication number: 20160258924
Abstract: This disclosure describes a level indicator assembly for measuring the level of solids in a vessel. The level indicator may desirably comprise a solid shaft extending into a vessel. The shaft may have paddle connected to an interior end of the shaft and an external sensor attached to an exterior end of the shaft. A support structure may engage the sensor to prevent at least a portion of the sensor from moving. By keeping a portion of the sensor stationary, the sensor may measure the change in torsional force exerted on the shaft. By locating the sensor external to the vessel, operators may remove and replace sensors without accessing either the vessel interior or the portions of the level indicator assembly that extend into the vessel.

  • Publication number: 20160217478
Abstract: A system and method for managing media advertising enterprise data. An enterprise data management (EDM) module can be configured to include a set of rules at an enterprise level to manage disparate and disconnected records. A scoring function with respect to each record can be computed based on the rules to determine the highest priority. The rules in association with the scoring function can be stored locally in an EDM database. A matching process can then be performed to accurately match similar records regardless of manual input, location, and format of the records in a distributed system. Each record can then be assigned with a parent enterprise advertiser. Such an optimization mechanism can interactively manage and report records at the enterprise level in a simple and efficient manner.

  • Patent number: 9352876
Abstract: A pallet structure that resists damage sustained by prior art pallets in pooled pallet distribution includes a deck and a base separated by opposed block structures spaced to accommodate fork tines, pallet jacks and other pallet moving equipment. The block structures are inset from the boundary established by the outer dimensions of the pallet. Impact guards protect the block structures against impacts that could pierce the walls of the block structures allowing foreign materials to enter an interior space of the deck, base or block structure. The impact guards surround the block structures preventing impacts from all sides. The exterior surfaces of the impact guards, at the four pallet corners, form a continuous vertical wall which extends from the top of the deck to bottom of the base.

  • Publication number: 20160148266
Abstract: Ways to provide media content are described. Advertising displays (120) may be able to interact with at least one mobile device (110) using an application framework (165). The framework may be able to notify the display when the mobile device is within an area (220) associated with the display. The display may update content based on the notification. In addition, the display may update a knowledge base, based on the notification. The display may update media content based on the knowledge base. The display may provide a set of menu options to the mobile device framework which may, in turn, provide the menu to a user interface element of the mobile device. The framework may identify a selection from the set of menu options and send a message to the display indicating the selection. The display may update the media content based at least partly on the selection.

  • Patent number: 9281146
Abstract: The present invention concerns a hydrophone signal limiting shunt switch, electrically associated and physically conjoined with a conventional hydrophone, for limiting hydrophone signal operability to water depths less than a predetermined, proscribed depth. The primary components of the shunt switch are a protected plunging bolt, at least one disk spring and an electrically conducting foot, none of which are ever in direct contact with the ocean environment. Flexure of the disk spring is the sole determinant of switch actuation. Upon sensing a predetermined, proscribed operating depth, the protected plunging bolt forces the electrically conducting foot to shunt the electrical connection between the associated hydrophone and the hydrophone transmission cable, consequently, quenching the hydrophone signal at the proscribed depth.

  • Publication number: 20160036230
Abstract: The present application thus provides a method of operating a synchronous condenser. The method may include the steps of accelerating a gas turbine engine to full speed no load conditions, connecting a generator attached to the gas turbine engine to an electric power grid, turning off a flow of fuel to the gas turbine engine, operating the generator in a synchronous condenser mode, and providing or absorbing reactive power to or from the electric power grid.

  • Publication number: 20150376922
Abstract: A latch assembly is provided that includes a housing, a release mechanism and a latch mechanism. The release mechanism includes a handle. Movement of the handle from a retracted position towards an extended position relative to the housing is operable to cause the latch mechanism to change from a latched condition to an unlatched condition. When the latch mechanism changes from an unlatched condition to the latched condition, the latch mechanism is operable to cause the release mechanism to cause the handle to move to the retracted position. When the latch mechanism is in the unlatched condition, the latch mechanism maintains the release mechanism in a configuration that maintains the handle away from the retracted position and provides a visual indication that the latch mechanism is in the unlatched condition.
