  • Patent number: 8516383
Abstract: A system and method are described for designing animated visualization interfaces depicting, at a supervisory level, manufacturing and process control information wherein graphical symbols in the visualization interfaces are associated with components of a process control/manufacturing information application. The system includes a graphical symbol library for maintaining a set of graphical symbol templates wherein the graphical symbol templates including a graphics definition including graphics and a reference to an application component type. The reference facilitates identifying candidate application components for creating an association between a graphical symbol instance created from a graphical symbol template and one of the candidate application components.

  • Patent number: 8449001
Abstract: A vehicle stowage assembly is provided that includes a compartment having an opening to allow access to the opening and a door proximate the opening. A ferrous member magnets are disposed on the compartment and the door to magnetically couple the magnets to the ferrous member when the door is in the closed position. A crash sensor is provided for detecting an expected vehicle crash event. An electromagnetic coil electromagnetically is coupled to the ferrous member, wherein the coil is electrically energized by current to create a polarity on the ferrous bar to create an increased force closure to the door relative to the housing when an expected vehicle crash is detected. The coil generates an opposite polarity on the ferrous member to open the door in response to a user actuated input.

  • Patent number: 8402668
Abstract: An improved coordinate measuring apparatus is provided. The coordinate measuring apparatus has a device that holds a CMM adapter plate in a way that simulates the locating points on the electromagnetic device in the CMM. Once in place, the threaded cube on the adapter plate is aligned to the CMM machine axes by holding a sliding V-block on the device against any corner of the cube. The screws that hold the threaded cube in the adapter plate are then tightened, and the adapter plate is released from the device. The threaded cube is now square to the CMM X-Y-Z axes.

  • Publication number: 20130031162
Abstract: The present application is directed to methods and systems for providing social interaction within a customized media streaming service. In one aspect, the present application is directed to methods and systems for automated playlist generation based on social metadata. These systems allow for an internet media delivery service to learn about a user's preferences, and changes in those preferences over time, without the user being required to tell the service directly, but rather through social networking profiles and relationships to one or more similar or related users. This allows the service to immediately, without any input from the listener, play programming that is likely to be enjoyed by the user. It also allows the service to learn about changes in a listener's preferences over time without requiring the user to actively express the preferences.

  • Publication number: 20120040597
Abstract: Methods of automated meat processing including an end to end processing method in which carcasses are cut into major portions at a first robotic processing station and into minor portions at robotic processing sub-stations. In one processing method carcass portions are acquired by a robotic arm, imaged and then cuts performed without transfer. In another a first series of processing steps are performed by rotating carcass portions through a plurality of processing stations and a second series of processing steps are performed as carcass portions are advanced along a linear conveyor. In another processing method a plurality of clamps are employed to stabalise a saddle section during a flap cut. In another processing method split pins are used to position a saddle section for a vertebrae cut. In another method a spinal cord is removed by applying a pressurised fluid stream against one end of the spinal cord and applying suction at the other end of the spinal cord.

  • Patent number: 7959124
Abstract: The invention provides a reading stand. The reading stand may include a base including a base member case. Further, the reading stand may include a reading lid disposed upon the base member case, the reading lid including a reading platform having a front side and a backside; and at least one page holder adjustably mounted on the reading platform so as to assist in retaining a document on the front side of the reading platform. Further, a support member is provided. The support member extends from the backside of the reading platform, and is adapted to engage with the base so as to support the reading lid upon the base. For example, the support member may be in the form of a side support clip that substantially vertically supports the reading lid upon the base for side reading.

  • Publication number: 20110124403
Abstract: A system and method of enhancing shopping search engines and games of chance by permitting the user to search for and locate the prize the user seeks to win or buy, and then playing a game of chance to win the specified item, or going to the web site to buy. The system calculates a dynamic probability of winning the item based on several factors. The system randomly generates a trial outcome of an event trial and an outcome indicator, with the probability of the event trial generating a winning trial outcome corresponding to the calculated probability of winning. The outcome indicator represents either a winning trial outcome or a losing trial outcome. In response to a winning trial outcome, the system purchases the item for the user from the independent third-party retail vendor at no cost to the user.
