  • Patent number: 11939430
Abstract: Polyphosphate compositions are produced by a process that includes the steps of continuously introducing a phosphate compound into a polymerization vessel, polymerizing the phosphate compound at a temperature of 250-450° C. for a time period sufficient to form the polyphosphate composition, and continuously discharging the polyphosphate composition from the polymerization vessel. The phosphate compound can be fed to the polymerization vessel in the form of an aqueous slurry containing 5-50 wt. % of the phosphate compound. Resulting polyphosphate compositions often contain at least 8 wt. % of a polyphosphate and less than 35 wt. % of the phosphate compound.

  • Patent number: 7730768
Abstract: A system for detecting leaks in vehicles comprises memory, a plurality of transducers, at least one sensor, an input device, and logic. The memory stores a plurality of transmit profiles. The transducers are disposed in a vehicle and configured to emit acoustic energy. The sensor is disposed outside of a vehicle and configured to sense the acoustic energy emitted by the transducers, and the input device is configured to receive a vehicle identifier identifying the vehicle. The logic is configured to select one of the transmit profiles for the transducers based on the vehicle identifier and to cause the transducers to emit the acoustic energy according to the selected transmit profile. The logic is further configured to detect at least one leak in the vehicle based on sample values indicative of the acoustic energy sensed by the at least one sensor and to provide an indication of the detected leak.

  • Publication number: 20090025454
Abstract: The present disclosure generally pertains to systems and methods for reliably detecting leaks in sealed compartments, such as compartments within vehicles. In one exemplary embodiment, an apparatus having a sealed compartment, such as a vehicle (e.g., automobile, airplane, etc.), is moved past an array of ultrasonic sensors. An ultrasonic transmitter is placed in the sealed compartment and emits ultrasonic energy as the apparatus is moved past the ultrasonic sensors. The transmitter has a plurality of adjustable transducers allowing the transmit profile of the transmitter to be tailored as may be desired, such as based on the type of compartment being tested. A leak can be automatically and non-destructively detected by analyzing data from the ultrasonic sensors.

  • Patent number: 7351195
Abstract: An incontinence inhibiting or prevention device is provided which can be inserted into the vagina by a wearer without complicated manipulation or folding of the device. The incontinence inhibiting or prevention device helps inhibit or prevent involuntary urination, including that which is stimulated by such bodily functions as coughing and sneezing, while allowing voluntary urination. The device may therefore be worn daily during normal activities and left in place for several days or weeks.

  • Publication number: 20070109138
Abstract: A system for detecting leaks in sealed compartments, such as vehicles, comprises a transmitter, at least one sensor, and logic. In one embodiment, the transmitter is disposed within a vehicle and has a wireless communication interface and a transducer. The transducer is configured to transmit energy within a specified frequency range. The sensor is disposed outside of the vehicle and is configured to sense energy transmitted by the transducer. The sensor is further configured to provide a plurality of sample values, and each of the sample values is indicative of a respective amount of energy sensed by the sensor within the specified frequency range. The logic is configured to detect at least one leak in the vehicle based on the sample values and to provide an output indicative of the detected leak. The logic is configured to transmit, to the wireless communication interface, a wireless signal for controlling the transmitter.

  • Publication number: 20070112528
Abstract: A system for detecting leaks in vehicles comprises memory, at least one sensor, an input device, and logic. The memory stores a plurality of threshold profiles, and the sensor is disposed outside of a vehicle for sensing energy emitted by a transmitter disposed inside of the vehicle. The input device is configured to receive a vehicle identifier identifying the vehicle, and the logic configured to select one of the threshold profiles based on the vehicle identifier. The logic is also configured to perform comparisons between sample values from the at least one sensor with a set of thresholds defined by the selected threshold profile. The logic is further configured to detect a leak in the vehicle based on the comparisons and to provide an indication of the detected leak.

  • Publication number: 20070107488
Abstract: A system for enabling calibration of sensors used for detecting leaks in compartments comprising a structure, a sensor, a test manager, an arm, a transducer, and logic. The sensor is mounted on the structure, and the test manager is configured to provide an indication as to whether a compartment has an abnormal leak based on data from the sensor. The data is indicative of an amount of acoustic energy sensed by the sensor within a specified frequency range while a transmitter in the compartment is emitting acoustic energy within the specified frequency range. The arm is detachably coupled to the sensor, and the transducer is mounted on the arm. The logic is configured to cause the transducer to emit acoustic energy within the specified frequency range thereby enabling the sensor to be calibrated without removing the sensor from the structure.
