  • Patent number: 10451439
Abstract: A system determines the transmission strength of the magnetic field signal. The magnetic field signal is transmitted from a first magnetic-sensor device to a second magnetic-sensor device. The system then determines a first projected distance between the first magnetic-sensor device and the second magnetic-sensor device. Based at least in part on the first projected distance, the system calculates an adjusted transmission strength for the magnetic field signal. The system then causes the first magnetic-sensor device to transmit an adjusted magnetic field signal. The adjusted magnetic field signal comprises the adjusted transmission strength. The system receives, from the second magnetic-field device, the adjusted magnetic field signal. Based at least in part upon the received adjusted magnetic field signal, the system, computes a first pose of the first magnetic-sensor device in relation to the second magnetic-sensor device.

  • Patent number: 10405368
Abstract: A mobile communications device is configured to implement dual connectivity, using both a Long-Term Evolution (LTE) radio and a 5th-Generation (5G) radio, for communicating with respective base stations of a cellular network. A primary transmission uplink is established in a first radio frequency band using the LTE radio. The device may then receive a request to establish a secondary transmission uplink in a second frequency band. Upon receiving the request, the device determines whether it can support concurrent use of the primary and secondary frequency bands while maintaining adequate receiver sensitivity. If the device cannot support such concurrent use, the device refuses the request. In addition, the device provides data indicating the degree by which certain performance parameters would be out-of-tolerance if the secondary connection were to be established.

  • Publication number: 20190238256
Abstract: A base station can select orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) numerologies that define subcarrier spacing values based on attributes associated with one or more services that a user equipment (UE) is using. The base station can use the selected OFDM numerologies for transmission associated with the services. When the UE is using multiple services simultaneously, the base station can select the same or different OFDM numerologies for the multiple services.

  • Publication number: 20190223070
Abstract: An access network can allocate a bearer for a network service associated with a quality-of-service (QoS) value (QV) and a retention-priority value (RPV), and determine a bearer ID for the service based on the QV, the RPV, and a supplemental priority value (SPV) different from the QV and from the RPV. Upon handover of a terminal, session(s) carried by a bearer allocated by the terminal can be terminated. That bearer can be selected using IDs of the bearers and a comparison function that, given two bearer IDs, determines which respective bearer should be terminated before the other. Upon handover of a terminal to an access network supporting fewer bearers per terminal than the terminal has allocated, a network node can select a bearer based on respective QVs and RPVs of a set of allocated bearers. The network node can deallocate the selected bearer.

  • Patent number: 10332119
Abstract: Users of mobile devices communicate through a mobile gateway to a transaction processing system. The transaction processing system manages accounts, such as debit card accounts, for the users. The accounts include a main account for each user and sub accounts that are linked or related to the main account. Funds may be transferred between a main account and its linked sub accounts, including automatic funds transfer when a transaction (e.g., a payroll deposit from an employer or a debit transaction at a specified retailer) is made against the main account and meets certain parameters established by a user. Access to linked sub accounts is made through use of internal account IDs, rather than the account number of the main account.

  • Publication number: 20190166564
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for reducing processing time of messages that are repeatedly received, with increasing frequency, by a device (e.g., user equipment, base station etc.). For example, the systems and methods would have a mobile device increase power, possibly to maximum power-out, per policy, if messages beyond the original are received and the time between those messages is decreasing. The decrease in time between messages indicates a more urgent need for the mobile device to power up. The systems and methods can be adapted for different types of messages (e.g., power-up, power-down, resource request, bandwidth request, service type, call type origination, quality-of-service request, application type, etc.). Each message type is associated with a policy (pre-determined or adaptive) that indicates the default behavior when the method detects a decrease in time between messages.

  • Patent number: 10284887
Abstract: A method for synchronizing content undergoing play out at first and second stations commences by comparing audio within content undergoing play out on the first station to the audio within content undergoing play out on the second station to determine if a latency exists between the first and second stations. If such a latency exists, then at least one of a pause or jump operations is performed in connection with content playing out by at least one of the first and second stations for an interval corresponding to an interval by which one station leads the other station to bring the two stations into substantial synchronism.

  • Patent number: 10241587
Abstract: A mixed-reality system for augmenting spatial sensor device readings comprises a first magnetic sensor device configured to transmit a magnetic field signal at a reduced rate relative to a previous transmission rate. The system also comprises a second magnetic sensor device configured to determine a measurement of the magnetic field signal. The measurement indicates a pose estimation of the first magnetic sensor device. Additionally, the system comprises a third spatial input device configured to acquire pose data of the first spatial input device through means other than the magnetic field signal. Further, the system comprises one or more processors configured to compute a pose of the first magnetic sensor device by at least augmenting the measurement of the magnetic field signal with the pose data acquired by the other spatial input device.

  • Patent number: 10203781
Abstract: In various embodiments, methods and systems for implementing integrated free space and surface inputs are provided. An integrated free space and surface input system includes a mixed-input pointing device for interacting and controlling interface objects using free space inputs and surface inputs, trigger buttons, pressure sensors, and haptic feedback associated with the mixed-input pointing device. Free space movement data and surface movement data are tracked and determined for the mixed-input pointing device. An interface input is detected for the mixed-input pointing device transitioning from a first input to a second input, such as, from a free space input to a surface input or from the surface input to the free space input. The interface input is processed based on accessing the free space movement data and the surface movement data. An output for the interface input is communicated from the mixed-input pointing device to interact and control an interface.

  • Patent number: 10110025
Abstract: An enhanced parallel protection circuit is provided. A system using separate battery packs in a parallel configuration is arranged with multiple protection circuit modules (PCMs). The PCMs are configured to detect fault conditions, such as over voltage, under voltage, excess current, excess heat, etc. Individual PCMs can be configured to control associated switches and/or other components. When a fault condition is detected by an individual PCM, the individual PCM triggers one or more associated switches to shut down one or more components. In addition, by the use of the techniques disclosed herein, the individual PCM can also trigger switches that are controlled by other PCMs. Configurations disclosed herein mitigate occurrences where a multi-PCM device is operating after at least one PCM has shut down. Configurations disclosed herein provide safeguards and redundant protection in scenarios where a fault event is detected by one PCM and not detected by another PCM in a parallel configuration.
