  • Publication number: 20090136480
Abstract: Transcutaneous immunostimulation administers at least one adjuvant by transcutaneous immunization to a subject who has undergone, is undergoing, or will undergo conventional vaccination or another immune response. A subject is selected for treatment to stimulate the immune response to a conventional vaccine or other immuno-therapy. A suspicion, medical history, or determination by a physician or veterinarian that the subject may fail to respond or only poorly respond to conventional vaccination or other immunotherapy because of age, acquired or congenital immunodeficiency, immunosuppression caused by disease or ablative therapy, or the use of reduced amounts of antigen in the conventional vaccine can be used to select subjects in need of treatment.

  • Publication number: 20080044413
Abstract: The present invention relates to bispecific single chain antibodies comprising a first binding domain that immunospecifically binds to the T-cell antigen CD3 and a second binding domain that immunospecifically binds to the EphA2 receptor. Such bispecific single chain antibodies are encompassed by the term “EphA2-BiTEs.” The present invention further relates to methods and compositions designed for the treatment, prevention and/or management of disorders associated with aberrant expression and/or activity of EphA2. Such disorders include, but are not limited to, cancer, non-cancer hyperproliferative cell disorders, and infections. The invention further relates to vectors comprising polynucleotides encoding the EphA2-BiTEs of the invention, host cells transformed therewith, and their use in the production of said EphA2-BiTEs.

  • Publication number: 20070226789
Abstract: A system and method for the secure transfer of data between a workstation connected to a private network and a remote computer connected to an unsecured network. A secure computer is inserted into the private network to serve as the gateway to the unsecured network and a client subsystem is added to the workstation in order to control the transfer of data from the workstation to the secure computer. The secure computer includes a private network interface connected to the private network, an unsecured network interface connected to the unsecured network, wherein the unsecured network interface includes means for encrypting data to be transferred from the first workstation to the remote computer and a server function for transferring data between the private network interface and the unsecured network interface.

  • Publication number: 20060022993
Abstract: An image conversion system for altering an image to adjust the overall brightness of the image when displayed is provided. The image conversion system includes a luminance transformer and a color adjuster. To adjust the overall brightness of the image, the luminance transformer reverses the luminance of each original color in the image. The new luminance of each transformed color is then compared to the desired luminance for that color. When the transformed colors do not have the desired luminance, the color adjuster modifies the hues of transformed color to achieve the desired luminance. Specifically, the color adjuster modifies the transformed color using a weighted average to achieve the desired luminance while maintaining the hues of the original color to the extent possible. By substituting each original color with a transformed color that is adjusted as needed to reach the desired luminance, the overall brightness of the image is adjusted.
