  • Publication number: 20220313534
Abstract: An enhanced actuator assembly, such as for use in driving a joint member of a wearable robotic device, is characterized by electrical isolation of the motor from the transmission system output. An actuator assembly includes a motor and a transmission system that provides a speed reduction of a motor speed to an output speed. The transmission system includes a non-conductive material layer that electrically isolates the motor from an output of the transmission system. The transmission system may be a two-stage transmission system. A first stage of speed reduction of the transmission system may include a first rotating member, such as a first helical gear, attached to the output shaft of the motor that transmits power to a second rotating member, such as a second helical gear. The second rotating member has a diameter larger than a diameter of the first rotating member to form the first stage of speed reduction, and the non-conductive material layer is part of the second rotating member.

  • Patent number: 9459787
Abstract: A control knob (10) includes a base (14) and a shaped wall (12). A plurality of sensor elements (32) are located within and circumferentially spaced around said shaped wall. Processor circuitry (40, 50) is connected to the plurality of sensor elements (32) for controlling an end-use device. The processor circuitry (40, 50) senses user touch commands on both sides of the shaped wall (12), and determines user desired commands based on the sensed user touch commands.

  • Publication number: 20130307598
Abstract: An apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes an analog timing controller and a digital state machine. An input circuit in the digital state machine is configured to receive a plurality of analog input signals, and an analog event circuit is coupled to the analog timing circuit, the glitch filter, and the input circuit. The analog event circuit and input circuit are configured to generate a composite event signal from the analog input signals and by using the analog timing circuit. The glitch filter is configured to receive the composite event signal. A clock generator also is coupled to the glitch filter, wherein the clock generator is configured to generate an aperiodic clock signal. The aperiodic clock signal is configured to be a synchronous clock signal for the digital state machine.

  • Patent number: 6437270
Abstract: An electrical switch (10) comprises switch contacts (100, 104) having a closed condition and an open condition. The switch (10) comprises an actuator (40) movable in a first direction (110) in a first stroke to close the contacts (100, 104) and movable in the first direction in a second stroke to cause the contacts to open. A rotatable bar (70) is carried by the actuator (40). The switch (10) includes a mechanism (14, 94, 96) for rotating the bar (70) in response to movement of the actuator (40) in the first direction (110) in the first stroke, to locate the bar in a latching position to hold the contacts (100, 104) in the closed condition. The mechanism (14, 94, 96) also rotates the bar (70) in response to movement of the actuator (40) in the first direction (110) in the second stroke, to move the bar from the latching position and to cause the contacts (100, 104) to open.
