  • Patent number: 7374505
Abstract: A broadhead adapter may be used to convert a field tip arrow to an arrow having a broadhead arrowhead. A broadhead adapter is comprised of a collar and at least one broadhead arrow blade. The collar is adapted to receive the stud of a field tip through an opening. The collar is adapted to securely fit between an end of an arrow shaft and the shoulder of the field tip. Each broadhead arrow blade is attached to the collar to form an arrowhead configuration. The outer perimeter of the collar should have substantially the same dimensions as the outer perimeter of the end of the arrow shaft. An arrow having a broadhead arrowhead may be formed by securing a broadhead adapter between the shoulder of a threaded arrow field tip and the threaded opening of an arrow shaft.

  • Patent number: 7318783
Abstract: A broadhead adapter is comprised of a collar and at least one broadhead blade. The collar is adapted to receive the stud of an adjustable weight broadhead adapter bolt through an opening. The collar is adapted to securely fit between an end of an arrow shaft and the shoulder of the bolt. Each blade is attached to the collar to form an arrowhead configuration. The adjustable weight bolt is comprised of a threaded stud, a shoulder, a boss and at least one weight. The threaded stud screws into the arrow shaft to secure a broadhead adapter to it. One or more weights are attached to the bolt to incrementally increase the effective weight of the arrowhead. An arrow having an adjustable weight broadhead arrowhead may be formed by securing a broadhead adapter between the shoulder of an adjustable weight broadhead adapter bolt and the threaded opening of an arrow shaft.

  • Patent number: 4936161
Abstract: A cable length adjuster with push and lock attachment for attaching and adjusting the length of a cable with respect to a support member. The cable length adjuster includes a stud having an externally threaded end portion and an intermediate boss formed with a polygonal-shaped exterior surface having a plurality of flat faces. A sleeve has a complimentarily shaped, polygonal cross section bore and is non-rotatably engageable with the boss on the stud. A nut is threadingly connected to the threads on the stud. The nut has a polygonal exterior shape to slidingly and non-rotatably support the sleeve. A spring is mounted between the nut and the sleeve to bias the sleeve into engagement with the boss on the stud. The cable is connected to the nut. Retraction of the sleeve from engagement with the boss on the stud enables the sleeve and the nut to be rotated thereby varying the overall length of the nut and stud through the threaded engagement of the nut with the stud.

  • Patent number: 4836557
Abstract: A game tracking arrow includes a two-part, separable tracking device mountable between the broadhead and the shaft of an arrow. The first part or member of the tracking device is in the form of a hollow, tubular housing threadingly attachable at one end to the broadhead. A stop is connected to the second member or stud which is threadingly mounted to and extends outward from one end of the arrow shaft. A collar is formed intermediate the ends of the second member and has a cross section larger than the cross section of the housing. A spool of line is disposed within the housing and is connected at one end to the stud. The stop is separable from the housing when the collar stops penetration of the shaft into the game to cause separation of the stop from the housing and broadhead embedded within the animal enabling the shaft to fall to the ground and the line to unwind from the spool as the game moves from the location of the shaft on the ground.
