  • Patent number: 11234060
Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, apparatus, article of manufacture, method and/or computer program product embodiments, and/or combinations and sub-combinations thereof, for providing recommendations based on non-streaming content on a media device. In a non-limiting embodiment, an apparatus, such as a media device, may provide recommendations of related streaming content based on non-streaming content retrieved from non-streaming sources and retrieving the streaming content from distributed streaming sources. The media device may monitor a transmission and display of non-streaming content and create a fingerprint of the non-streaming content based on the monitoring. And based on the fingerprint, the media device may generate recommendations of related or similar streaming content that can be retrieved and displayed by the media device.

  • Patent number: 10380630
Abstract: A system and method for placing ads on a client-side video replay system. The described embodiments of the present invention allow a client to make a determination of ad placement priority separately from the function of serving ads to a requesting application. A described dynamic ad placement engine reorders ads when the context of the system is changed to yield a next ad to be placed. Thus, at a later time, when an application sends an ad request, the dynamic ad placement engine can quickly respond with the ad to be placed. The ads also are preferably reordered after an ad is placed. Placement of ads is controlled in the described embodiment by interpreted rules for each ad.

  • Patent number: 9423328
Abstract: An apparatus for testing a cushioning component for a body part includes a jig that has a three-dimensional anatomical shape. A base is configured to support the cushioning component. An actuator is operatively connected to at least one of the jig and the base and is activatable to move said one of the jig and the base toward and away from the other of the jig and the base to repeatedly contact the cushioning component and the jig with one another. An electronic controller has a processor that executes a stored algorithm. The algorithm has a test condition substantially equivalent to an expected in-use condition of the cushioning component. The electronic controller activates the actuator to move the jig and/or the base according to the algorithm. A method of testing a cushioning component is implemented.

  • Publication number: 20160021418
Abstract: Heterogeneous video may be independently encoded in a processor-based system and transmitted for display on a display device. In the display device, the independent video streams may be de-packetized for display on the same display at different frame rates. Thus, each of the video sources may be displayed in a separate portion of the display at its native frame rate. For example, an electronic programming guide may be transmitted for display at one frame rate and displayed in a distinct region on the display screen while video corresponding to an ongoing television program may be displayed in another portion of the display screen at its native frame rate.

  • Publication number: 20140019390
Abstract: Apparatus and method for fingerprinting an audio signal utilizes programmed machine to identify overlapping windows in a time domain representation of the audio signal, establish a frequency domain representation of the overlapping windows, convolve a set of two-dimensional kernels with the frequency domain representation to thereby provide a convolutional layer as an output stage, reduce dimensionality of the convolution layer to provide one or more further output stages, and perform further processing so as to output a decision in regard to a plurality of the overlapping windows comprising either a specific content id that matches to the audio signal or a failure-to-match indication.
