Patent number: 11719764Abstract: A magnetic field monitor includes a magnetic field sensor that generates an electronic signal at a time period representing a magnetic field of the environment and includes a sensor transducer having a sensor bobbin, a primary coil, a secondary, over-winding coil, a sensor circuit, a controller connected to the primary coil, and a digitally controlled potentiometer connected to the secondary coil and controller. A non-linear output is converted to a quantitative linear output.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 2021Date of Patent: August 8, 2023Assignee: MIS SECURITY, LLCInventors: Cory J. Stephanson, Scott A. Patent number: 11269107Abstract: A security portal includes magnetic field sensors in a sensor assessment network (SAN) for tracking a magnetic dipole target. Each sensor includes a sensor transducer, a sensor coil, and a digitally controlled potentiometer. A sensor controller applies a stepped voltage, samples an output frequency at each stepped voltage value, generates a magnetic sensor response curve, and converts a non-linear response of the sensor transducer to a magnetic field value for each x, y and z channel as a function of frequency for a specific potentiometer setting based upon the sensed magnetic dipole that is tracked in the security portal. A SAN controller receives the magnetic field values from each channel and determines the magnetic field vectors of the target over each sample.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2019Date of Patent: March 8, 2022Assignee: MIS SECURITY, LLCInventors: Cory J. Stephanson, Scott A. Sterling

Patent number: 9924314Abstract: A device disposed on a subject to maintain the subject within a containment zone and track the subject if the subject exits the containment zone. The device includes a positioning unit for generating position data including satellite positioning data. There is a processor unit to determine from the position data if the subject is inside or outside of the containment zone. The processor unit operates in a containment mode when the subject is inside the containment zone and in a tracking mode when the subject exits the containment zone. A correction unit issues a stimulus when the subject exits the containment zone and terminates the stimulus when the processor unit enters the tracking mode from the containment mode. There is a communication unit which transmits an alert to an electronic device of an operator when the processor unit transitions from the containment to tracking mode.Type: GrantFiled: April 7, 2017Date of Patent: March 20, 2018Assignee: OnPoint Systems, LLCInventors: Kenneth S. Solinsky, Robert Paxton, Xinnakone Vivathana, Kristen Lomastro, Scott Sterling

Patent number: 8438321Abstract: Certain aspects of a method and system for supporting hardware acceleration for iSCSI read and write operations via a TCP offload engine may comprise pre-registering at least one buffer with hardware. An iSCSI command may be received from an initiator. An initiator test tag value, a data sequence value and/or a buffer offset value of an iSCSI buffer may be compared with the pre-registered buffer. Data may be fetched from the pre-registered buffer based on comparing the initiator test tag value, the data sequence value and/or the buffer offset value of the iSCSI buffer with the pre-registered buffer. The fetched data may be zero copied from the pre-registered buffer to the initiator.Type: GrantFiled: April 5, 2011Date of Patent: May 7, 2013Assignee: Broadcom CorporationInventors: Uri Elzur, Kan Frankie Fan, Scott Sterling McDaniel

Patent number: 7457845Abstract: Aspects of the invention for posting buffers for a non-posting TCP application may comprise posting at least one generic buffer located in a memory external to a host adapter and transferring incoming data for a TCP connection to the posted generic buffer prior to the non-posting TCP application posting a TCP application buffer for the incoming data. At least one generic buffer may be allocated from a pool of available generic buffers upon receipt of the incoming TCP connection data. At least a portion of the incoming data may be stored in the allocated generic buffer if the TCP application buffer is unable to accommodate the incoming data. The method may further determining whether the incoming data for the TCP connection transferred to the posted generic buffer is in sequence and ordering the incoming data based on a sequence number if the incoming data is out of sequence.Type: GrantFiled: August 20, 2003Date of Patent: November 25, 2008Assignee: Broadcom CorporationInventors: Kan Frankie Fan, Scott Sterling McDaniel

Patent number: 7373526Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for providing system manageability for computing systems operating under OS-absent conditions. In particular, techniques are disclosed for providing fully functional system management capabilities even when the primary power source for the computing system is disabled. One aspect of the invention relates to a power supply control that facilitates the realization of low power consumption integrated circuit systems. Another aspect of the invention relates to providing fully functional ASF support when operating on auxiliary power. In one embodiment, this is implemented in a local bus adapter/controller that integrates network communication, management, and support features.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 2002Date of Patent: May 13, 2008Assignee: Broadcom CorporationInventors: Andrew S. Hwang, Andrew M. Naylor, Steven B. Lindsay, Habib Anthony Abouhossein, Scott Sterling McDaniel
