  • Publication number: 20220382520
Abstract: A message is embedded within an entropy stream. The message is encrypted using a onetime pad (OTP) and thus looks like part of the entropy string since the OTP encrypted messages is, as long as the “pad” material and message content are known, itself random to the observer. The encrypted message contains information used to identify and/or point to relevant information in another part of the entropy stream. For example, the OTP-encrypted message may indicate the number of units of the message, and point to a position in another part of the stream where another message is located. The stream may be randomly and deterministically expanded.

  • Publication number: 20220355952
Abstract: An introduced autonomous aerial vehicle can include multiple cameras for capturing images of a surrounding physical environment that are utilized for motion planning by an autonomous navigation system. In some embodiments, the cameras can be integrated into one or more rotor assemblies that house powered rotors to free up space within the body of the aerial vehicle. In an example embodiment, an aerial vehicle includes multiple upward-facing cameras and multiple downward-facing cameras with overlapping fields of view to enable stereoscopic computer vision in a plurality of directions around the aerial vehicle. Similar camera arrangements can also be implemented in fixed-wing aerial vehicles.

  • Publication number: 20220326705
Abstract: An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) controller may have control elements configured to receive inputs from a user. A cover may be coupled to the controller. The cover may be movable between a closed position in which the control elements are covered and an open position in which the control elements are exposed. An antenna may be integrated in the cover. The antenna may be electrically connected to circuitry in the controller for communicating with a UAV. In some implementations, a conductive plane and/or an insulating plane may be integrated in the cover. In some implementations, a heatsink, a fan, and/or a support mechanism may be arranged on an under portion of the controller. In some implementations, a circuit board including a cutout may be arranged inside the controller.

  • Publication number: 20220297697
Abstract: Systems and methods for iced road conditions and remediation are disclosed herein. A method can include determining an ambient temperature around a vehicle or a road relative to a temperature threshold, determining lateral acceleration of the vehicle due to steering input, determining a slippery condition based on the ambient temperature being below the temperature threshold and the expected lateral acceleration exceeding the measured lateral acceleration by more than a threshold, and selectively adjusting a vehicle operating parameter when the slippery condition is present.

  • Patent number: 11434641
Abstract: An ember and flame resistant resettable automatic soffit vent includes a tray with ventilation openings formed in its floor. A mesh screen resides on the floor of the tray spanning the ventilation openings. A flat slide resides atop the screen and also has ventilation openings that match those of the tray. The slide has an open position wherein its ventilation openings align with those of the tray to allow airflow through the vent and a closed position wherein its ventilation openings are misaligned with the ventilation openings of the tray to close off airflow through the vent. The vent can be manually moved between its open and closed positions and one or more tension springs and a thermal link assembly cooperate to move the slide to its closed position if the vent is exposed to a high temperature cause by a fire very near a home.

  • Publication number: 20220266829
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for providing assistive action to a driver of a vehicle to increase a following distance between the vehicle and a target lead vehicle. In one example, providing assistive action includes, operating the vehicle manually behind a target lead vehicle on a road, including estimating a following distance between the vehicle and the target lead vehicle, and responsive to the following distance being less than a first threshold following distance, providing an assistive action by adjusting a mapping from a driver demand to a wheel torque of the vehicle to increase a perceived resistance of the vehicle to the driver demand as the following distance decreases.
